Regardless, as far as football goes, the move to 14 with the current 6-1-1 is like the SEC isn't one conference anymore. It's the SECW and the SECE and we play a cross conference challenge every season. The players don't get to play every team while they are in college, and the students and fans don't get to enjoy games with all of the schools nearly as much. Some of that can be remedied by tweaking the schedule over time, but it won't fix all of it.
Mizzou still hasn't even been put on an LSU schedule yet. Vandy hasn't been on an LSU schedule since 2010 and there's no telling when they will be again. LSU will go more than a decade between trips to South Carolina probably. That's just nonsense.
Those problems could be fixed tomorrow if yearly cross-division rivalry games would go away or only be applied to programs who want them.
And those problems WILL go away when we move to a 9 game schedule.

I give it a 8.
New TV markets while also winning your bowl games.

And when they ultimately go to 16 teams and 4 pods / divisions the rotation will speed up dramatically.

They've provided solid competition and done very well. Won't be long before they surpass the Flagship as far as fitting in and representing the SEC well.

Meh, I am turning into a SEC traditionalist with that now- no more teams!!!
Oh course the big reason is that the most likely additions come from the Big 12 since its GOR ends before the ACC GOR.

I think they'll hold out for teams on the Eastern Front before adding Oklahoma or the Shorthorns.

But look at what the Jones's are doing. How would you like be asked to rate the addition of Rutgers and Maryland in your conference.
This^^
With the way the the teams are playing and the way the fan bases are fitting in I'd give it a solid 10. Hell y'all guys from Yankee land are even OK.

These latest additions were alot better than adding arkansas
can't take that one back

Solid 10. The conference added two very competitive athletic programs with huge fan bases and giant TV markets.
Equally important, IMO, the SECU got two impressive academic institutions. This will help tremendously in the effort to compete for grant monies, which make athletics revenue seem like chump change.

Solid 8
The two noobs are going to work-out just fine - although NC St and Va Tech or NC St and A&M might have been better, it's going to be okay with Mizzou.
Now, we've still got to beat the yankee out of the mizzerites, but eventually they'll acquiesce and come around to the light, the good side, and give-up their scum bag white trash yankee ways.

Sorry to put it to ya, but we're going to 16 teams soon. Everybody knows there will be 4 Super Conferences. It'll be ACC, Pac 12, B1G, and SEC. Big 12 will get raided, just a matter of time. I say by 2020-2025 we'll have 4...16 teams super conferences. Unless there's some gentleman's agreement not to rob the Big 12 and destroy them.

I read about half of the first page and I will add this:
1. aTm. I wouldn't have gotten to see as much Johnny Manziel if they hadn't joined. Not sure where Sumlin goes without him but the last two years was fun to watch him play.
2. Mizzou. I think their defense is farther ahead of Bama in terms of stopping the new spread/HUNH movement going through football and if both teams had to play that offense week in and week out, I think the stats would show it. I hate Mizzou from a location standpoint and it would suck having to travel that far for an away game if we were in the same division. I think they are a much better team that I would have given them credit for and with MM as quarterback, could be a lot of fun to watch next year.
All in all, I would give both around an 8 or so due to bringing differences to the league. I hope to see us bring in two more and realign the divisions in the next couple years though.

I'm honestly pretty neutral about A&M and Mizzou.
I would have preferred a 12-team format to remain, but just because that's all I've ever known. The league seems too large still. I'll get used to it.
If we had to take on two teams, the SEC could have done a lot worse. So I think y'all were good additions.
Its nice to have other teams west of the big rivah.
