History shows that the pollsters will look at losses more than wins. OU's loss to Texas tech is inexcusable. Alabama's loss to LSU went to overtime and could have went either way. Oregon was beaten pretty easily by LSU. If LSU wins out, and Okie St. loses to OU or in their title game, it will be LSU-Bama.

bank on it.
If LSU goes undefeated and Oklahoma beats Oklahoma State, then the Sooners will play LSU. Not bama. Nobody wants to see that again.
May be the case but....how on God's green Earth do the voters overlook that loss to Texas Tech??? TT is AWFUL. By the looks of it they won't even be in a bowl game.

If I lost a night game at home where the whole country is watching, I'd want a rematch too. I understand you want revenge...you'll have that next year.

They also act like a rematch is unheard of, yet FSU and UF played in a bowl game after playing each other in their last regular season game. And talk of how having to play the same team 2x in the same season is unfair, yet Bama had to beat UF 2x in '99 to win the SEC. Had Bama lost the second game vs. UF, in the SECCG, then UF would have been SEC Champs, even though Bama had beaten them earlier in the season. Which kinda let's the air out of the LSU argument that if Bama were to beat LSU in a rematch and win the BCSCG, it wouldn't be "fair".
Oh, and since Mike Dubose beat Spurrier twice in 1999, obviously, MD > SS.

No "title game" even though that game will decide it.

then they follow that up with talk of Oregon getting a shot before Bama, which would be, a rematch.
Alabama lost at home and Oregon has to play an extra game.

We've beaten two top 5 already, and if/when we be Arky, that'll be 3 in the top 10. Why do we want a rematch when we've already beaten these teams. They had their chance and blew it...give me someone new. I like saying we've beaten 4-5 of the top 10 teams to win the NC

U so mad you lost in primetime at home and are screwed. Enjoy your bowl game.
How is it that the fans of the number one team in the land do not just sit back and say bring it on! They should not care or get in a conversation about who they play. The only reason I can see that they even discuss this is because they do not want to play a particular team for fear that they would not prevail!

Ok. St won't lose to OU without Broyles/Whaley IMO.

quality control on the part of the TV spin guys appears to be against a defensive re-match.
since the entire nation's media will be voting on the opponents, I doubt they will pick Bama.
I suspect they will give someone else a chance.
IF its Bama, bring them on. LSU will even faster on the artificial surface.
I just hope its LSU. Arkansas and Georgia both have a lot to play for. If Georgia wins they are guaranteed a Sugar Bowl berth.
Ark might pass LSU and be one of the SEC teams in a BCS game.
At the very least, it would get them a better bowl than if they lose. I am more concerned about ARk and Georgia than who is in the BCS champ game. Things will sort out, if LSU wins out.

So that means it wouldn't be a rematch if they were to play again?
Oregon also lost by a larger margin, hasn't beaten any quality teams, etc. (Just parroting all the talking points that have been rehashed over and over on here). We can split hairs all day. Fact of the matter is that if OSU loses a game, then the difference between the one loss teams will be very small and anyone could wind up playing in the BCSCG.
That being said, I think the chances of Bama landing in the BCSCG are very small. Being idle while other teams are playing in December will hurt UA a lot. Out of sight, out of mind.
However, there is a lot of football left and the teams at the top all have at least one tough game left.

Typical Gump. If Bama was in the East L.S.U. would not be complaining if they had to play you again, you freakin idiot. Its the extra game part, while you Jammers sit at home and wait.
Please could the Admins make a sticky thread topic so all these dam Gumps can post there,on why they should be in the National Championship? We get it already, you lost at home but are stll the best team in the country. You half breeds lost, rub some more KY on your butthurt.

I know it has been a long time since UT has had to concern themselves with football in December and January, but you do realize that the BCSCG is played about a month after the SECCG, not the following week. OSU/OU would also not be playing a conference championship, so does that give them an unfair advantage?
You "freaking idiot".

I'm excited to see how it plays out and I won't be too upset if Bama doesn't get back in it. When you lose control of your destiny, you have to suffer the consequences.
