I am honestly not trying to start a war with Bama fans in this thread, but I believe that Gus outcoached Saban in this year's IB. Remains to be seen if he can do that consistently.
I mean, I get why you think this. But, serious question: If you win the turnover margin, out gain the other team by over 100 yards and have the same number of TDs plus essentially four extra attempted field goals, how often do you think you lose that game?
Saban coached really conservatively, which he almost always does, because he always has a more talented roster. But it will be interesting to see if Guz continues to coach as aggressively (I.e. Risky) as his rosters become more talented.

Gus is currently the best coach in college football.
frick consistency. frick recruiting. The man took a winless program a year ago (conference) to the national championship. No other coach in college football past or present could have pulled that shite off.

What? Scheme? Yes it's such genius calling zone read options.

#2 behind Saban. Gus is an offensive genius. He is the Sean Payton of college football.
You're stupid. Auburn runs the same play 85% of the game.

I agree with that but if I'm a new AD looking for a coach for the future I'm probably taking Gus over anybody.

I love the Ark fans who are still holding out hope that Gus will suddenly start to suck at coaching.
I never said anything about him sucking at coaching.

That team SHOULDN'T have been winless (in SEC).
Should have had an 8 or 9 win season.
Yes, Gus did well this year, but a good part of his huge turnaround was due to how piss poor Chiz did.

We (A&M) folks realize that; but we haven't trumpeted it daily, like some other fan bases have about their guys.
Truly--Sumlin is a couple of scores from the national championship game.
And he's being rated as ninth.
Yeah, but he is also only one score away from having 3 conference losses last year. Saban was in the BCSNCG and Richt missed it by one play in the SECCG. Muschamp and Miles were both closer to the SECCG than Sumlin, and Spurrier was just a close.
Sumlin has done a fine job while he has had Manziel, and may continue to do well, but in the SEC these days being a couple of scores from the BCSNCG is little more than average.

Spurrier is not top four.He was a clear #1 during his tenure at UF in the 90s. He is middle of the pack now as he is just a hair over Richt. Both coaches share a propensity to lose the inexplicable game every year. He has not won an SEC title at USC.
