It was time for him to go and Dabo won’t be too far behind him. The game unfortunately has passed them by.

One of our 247 guys has a good story about this. A backup OL for us that was making $50k here went on a visit to Okie State after deciding to transfer. He expressed his surprise after the visit to our writer upon getting there and finding out that they didn’t have a single starter on the OL making $50k.

There are 68 million reasons Dabo is staying at Clemson for AWHILE. I mean they aren't A&M and he's not Jimbo...

When they lost every conference game last season, I knew he would be gone soon.

Well he's been there for 20+ years and probably makes 8+ million dollars a year. He, while still an alumni has used other schools as an opportunity to leverage a raise about 10x. If its good for him to pimp himself out for a raise when he is doing good then it has to also be good for them to shite can him without any hard feelings when he sucks.

Gundy struck me as someone wanting a school to make him an offer he couldn't refuse for the last decade

And nobody ever did, and OSU kept paying him more, and he got more miserable and so did they

Clemson and Dabo are in the same position. Don’t know if Clemson pulls the trigger this season or not but they should. Dabo should leave at the end of the year if Clemson doesn’t fire him.

Dabo’s buyout is like $60m thru 2031…Don’t think he’s going anywhere on his own.

Plus I think his contract allows him to take a new job (if fired) and it wouldn’t offset what Clemson owes him.

Someone estimated it would take Clemson about $100m to switch coaches (buyout + new coach)

Cale held most of the passing records at OU until Heupel showed up.

I think that Gundy and OKST probably suffered from the NIL competition with OU and other, larger schools. Just a theory.

That and the conference realignment.

Pokes, Wazzu, and Beavers are done.

I think there’s a lot of truth to this. It was framed as his loyalty to the school. It was really just no better options. And he got miserable not being able to break through.

I think everyone else did. He had his moment of competitiveness but he hasn't been good for a long time.

He went 10-4 in 2023, finishing ranked 16th. He went 12-2 in 2021, winning a NY6 bowl and finishing ranked 7th.

He was on borrowed time there anyways. Probably went to get a jump on a new permanent

Maybe LSU can get him if Kelly loses 3 regular games and LSU misses the playoffs this year.

If he has a year like Gundy had last year and he gets off to a slow start next year they will most definitely will be looking to get rid of Dabo.
