Houston Nutt had finally been fired. Reggie Herring was the lame duck HC after he had interviewed and publicly said he wanted the job but was bypassed for Petrino. McFadden and Jones didn't practice leading up to the game IIRC. It was just a cluster frick inside the program at the time because there was a huge divide on the team between Nutt supporters and guys that didn't like him. That season couldn't get over fast enough and it showed in that game.

Tony Temple rushed for 281 yds and 4 touchdowns which is still a Cotten Bowl record. McFadden rushed for 1 td for AR.
Chase Danial was QB. Mizzou was pretty good that year.

Georgia got raped by Tennessee. The same team LSU beat in the SEC championship.

Transitive property Is transitive. We whooped Kentucky who beat y'all. Also saying you played a harder schedule is pretty debatable. This was the West in Saban's first year, not now. You lost to a 5 loss Arkansas team. Plus my point wasn't even that we deserved it more than y'all, it was that Les Miles' argument was stupid and that Richt was too much of a pussy to ruffle any feathers and lobby for our team to be in the title game.

The end of the season matters more than the beginning of the season, that's just a fact of football and y'all had lost to a one man Arkansas team to end the season and we beat 3 top 15 teams by an average of 3 touchdowns each to end ours. It's up for debate but obviously y'all got the bid and made the most of it. And obviously the victory gave you a false sense of entitlement bc in reality you are just a tool.

Georgia was as good as any that year. Well, except South Carolina.

I was glad to see Georgia put Hawaii in their place. I remember watching the pre-game and Hawaii was doing their little Taw kwon do dance. Dannell Ellerbe and other UGA players came out in the black uniforms and were jumping up and down and just taunting them. I knew the impending doom was coming for Brennan and Hawaii.

It's too damn bad they count all the games during the season. Y'all still lost by 20. Also I would have loved for LSU to play UGA for the SEC championship. Too bad y'all couldn't get there.

You are so fricking rustled that everybody knows UGA would've boat raced LSU had they played that year. LSU won the natty but it still rustles you, talk about insecurity.

But let's be honest, 07 UGA boatraces 07 LSU 9 out of 10 times that year. Damn shame they never played

If Kentucky had pulled out that win against Tennessee in OT, Georgia goes to Atlanta and beats LSU by at least 10 points, before routing Ohio State in the BCS National Championship Game.

I was glad to see UGA hammer Hawaii too.

I remember before the game coming across some message board and some of their fans (they actually exist) had long rants about how they were going to show the world what Hawaii was all about and were to going to take it to the backwards and racists Southern culture.

It was an enjoyable watch.

Yeah, overtime or not... Still two losses in the regular season. I think he meant they didn't lose a game in regulation.

I wish for once in my lifetime lsu can go to the championship game without having 8 teams lose ahead of us to get in. That 03 and 07 season played out the same way. I will never complain winning those years but I would like to make it being number 1 or 2 the whole year like most teams do.

Georgia finished #2 in the AP; USC finished #2 in the Coaches. The country got hosed in a great, historic matchup between a Pac 10 school and SEC school since that's a rare bowl opportunity.

I think there could have been an outside chance at a split national championship had a Georgia/Southern Cal matchup took place.

LSU knew and their fans knew they were out of contention in the final weekend but they had everything go their way, and deserved the BCS title berth.

2007 Hawaii and 2004 Pittsburgh were the worst BCS bowl teams of the era. Hawaii was simply rewarded for their season. Glad UGA put them in their place.
