OK so the portal closes on Jan 16th for everyone but Miami and Indiana, correct?

Does this mean only players transferring from those two schools or also player possibly transferring to those schools as well? TIA

I believe Jan 16th is the last day everyone else can enter the portal. They don't have to sign by them, just enter the portal. Only Indiana/Miami players can continue to enter after that date.

So for the players who have entered the portal, is there a date which they must sign with a team? Or is it just up to each team as to how they want to handle it academically? I know there is a progress report that they have to have so many classes/credits for certain time periods towards graduation.

Even though players in the portal can still sign after it closes, there are thousands and thousands of players in it.

so the potential scenario is a ton of the miami and indiana programs all portalling at once , forcing their programs to retain them search the wider market
the reason this could be big, is there isnt a lot of time for them to trickle in

There’s no deadline for them to sign with another school.

There’s no hard NCAA “last day” to sign a portal player. It’s controlled by the school’s admissions and scholarship process.
