i honestly can't see jones touch the ball at all in the video ive been posting, but its clear peterson touches it first otherwise.

but he didn't have possession of the ball when He and Jones both touched the ball at nearly the same time. jones was out of bounds and rule applies. no catch. sorry it sucks and I hate to see this game that Bama dominated get sidetracked by this call-non call.

But Jones was OUT OF BOUNDS when he touched the ball and peterson did not have controll of the ball. than means the ball is dead/out of bounds and the play is over. that is how I interpret the rules. the replay clearly shows Jones touching the ball while he was out of bounds.
first of all peterson was the first one to touch it
secondly watch the video in slow motion, both of jones' feet were in the air when he touched the ball prior to having stepped out of bounds

looks like Julio was the first to touch it.

Very nice analysis. And shows that was an incomplete pass. Not that it would have mattered, LSU only had 9 yds for the entire 4th quarter. The physical beating Saban ordered had already taken it's toll.

yep and his back foot was on the ground and out of bounds.

actually upon another look, it looks like PP touched it first. But still, nothing was conclusive enough to overturn it.

I think it was a bad call but it did not change the outcome of the game. We outgained LSU by 200 yards for the game and held them to 9 yards of O in the 4th.
Not only did the better team win, the team that played the more complete game won. Just my $0.02.

lol, peterson has control the second he caught it with both hands, and they didn't touch the ball simultaneously, so since peterson, in bounds, touched the ball first, even though his "possession" happened a nanosecond after touching the ball, the "rule" is bogus. i know it sucks that the game was tainted by the refs and your defense didn't have the chance to make the legit win, but it was a INT and the majority of your fans agree, which is tell tail. It also sucks that our offense, missing its TE (one of if not the best in the SEC), QB, and RB along with its best OL and CB on key plays still drove down the field and scored on the immaculate bama defense. The same offense that would have had good field position with 6 min. remaining down 6. Im glad jones got his second TD of the year (LOLLLL) on a kid who just started playing on the first team. Peterson made him look like a D2 receiver.

Shut up and lose the sugar bowl.

Ok so if Julio touched it first and was out of bounds then shouldn't that be a penalty for illegal touching??

wrangler - not to set you up for a joke but is jones play on the ball illegal? 5-yards? 15 yards?
illegal touching - if a player leaves the field and makes a play on the ball?
nevertheless - a dead horse
