So this is year three for Urban and he should have his recruits playing all around for the most part.

Points given up in order

17 (Navy)
35 (VT)
0 (Kent State)
28 (Cincinatti)
24 (Maryland)
17 (Rutgers)
24 (Penn State)
14 (Illinios)
37 (Michigan State)
24 (Minnesota)
27 (Indiana)
28 (Michigan)
0 (Wisconsin)

Saban with a month to prepare? I'm going with 38 Minimum. Unless a lot of 2nd and third stringers have up meaningless touchdowns that defense according to box scores do not look good overall.

P.s. That's 8 of 12 games with 24 points or more. That would get a few SEC DC fired.

The shitty schedule makes those numbers look worse.

1)How was OSU's D supposed to stop the VaTech pick six that sealed that game?

2) OSU runs a hurry-up on O. Their D is on the field more. Might be better to measure their D based on efficiency stats.

They recruit at an Elite level and play on the big 10. Oregon runs a Hurry up and has a more than serviceable defense for the most part year in and year out.

So does Ole Miss and we're ranked number 1 in scoring defense.

they didnt give up 35 to VT brah

also, its kind of dumb to say how many points an opponent scored while ignoring how many OSU also put up.

who gives a shite that Cincy scored 28 when the Buckeyes beat them by 22?

They pulled away in quite a few of those games where they put up video game points. They won't out athlete Bama.

Bama outscored his Florida team's 63-19 in the final 2 meetings of Urban's tenure and those were year's 5 & 6 of his tenure there....

Your offense is more "hurry up and get a first down or two before Bo fricks up" style offense, whereas OSU is "hurry up and score and put the defense right back out there" style.

Too lazy to link on iPhone but advanced/ efficiency stats have OSU D ranked pretty high.

It's the big ten. That's like having a shitty but efficient offense in the big 12

Ohio State's defense: "We had no idea they traded those things for tattoos. Honest."

Stats mean nothing!! Wins and losses are what matters!

what? Oregon gives up like 80 yards more a game

OSU's D is not elite this year, but the secondary is much improved this year from last year. It is a fringe top 25 unit. Great D-line, serviceable LBers and a good secondary.

Early in the year a few teams were able to go over the top, later in the year the team gave up some big runs, and Wisky was really the first game where they looked like a good unit. Part of that of course is Wisky is 1 dimensional, but the D-line owned a good O-line and that helped out the back 7 a ton

OSU is still on the rise and Bama is at the top of the mountain.

How many Bama games this year, were within a score in the 4th Quarter ? Teams score and give up points late to make stats worthless this time of year.

The stats hardly fit the narrative of a dominant Ohio State team that got better and better down the stretch. The Big is dogs in every bowl game. What a weak conference.

Christ, here we go again with tosu fans. It's been awhile, but it will be weeks of them trying to convince everyone why they belong and how it won't be the same as every other feeble attempt to defeat an SEC team when it counts.

Blown out in BCS Championship games by Florida (2007), then by LSU (2008). *Pummeled by Alabama, 35-6, in the Sugar Bowl(1977)

Even Tressel, the guy who delivered just about everything Ohio State fans ever wanted couldn't get it done.

BAMA - 45
tosu - 13

-------------------------------------------------

Maybe your defense looks a little better because of the competition?

The Alabama/tOSU game will look very similar to the Alabama/Mizzou game in score and stats except tOSU passing #s won't be as high and their rushing #s will be a little better.
