tOSU is the only team who could be undefeated and left out, depending on the results/closeness of the Wisconsin, Penn St., and Michigan games. We like to hate on Ohio State, but the reality is they actually drop in the polls after winning, year after year. The only major program to do so it seems. Now if they roll over Wisconsin(unlikely though), that could change.

If you think they will leave out an undefeated OSU team out with wins over Wisconsin (2), Penn State, Michigan, Michigan State, and Cincinnati (who will be top 25 end of the year) then there is no helping you.

Really? Kirby knows. He went off into insider type stuff. He knows that staff and how they won't compromise. They are still cleaning house in Knoxville because they are in it for the long haul. I met the Morris kid's coach from some place around Atlanta about 3 weeks ago in a bakery and he told me some stuff about that staff that reinforces everything Kirby said. But Kirby Smart didn't change my mind. They are all in it together inc Fulmer.

They had a major league build. They have had to instill discipline, toughness, player development S & C, class room discipline, bring in top flight SEC football players and build a coaching staff that won't compromise. And Fulmer has to find the money to throw at all that plus facilities like UGA and UA have then try to match the incredible player pipeline that Georgia has instate and go into NC, SC, Va, Al and Ohio in addition to dominating their state. Which is booming.

If all that can be done then they likely will do it. Because they will work at it just like KS works at UGA. I can tell you that at Bama Pruitt was a better recruiter than Kirby. I don't know about X and O coaching. But Pruitt and Fulmer are both rookies at what they are doing so it won't happen overnight like at Bama with their traditions or UGA where the entire state inc government has completely sold out to the Bulldogs. With more NFL quality athletes than anyplace. All that said anything could happen and they could fail. In any event it is a full 4 year job. Smart inherited a top flight talented roster, plays in the east and has put together 2 of the top 3 or 4 all time best recruiting classes anywhere, anytime in the past two years. And he may lose out on the playoffs if he doesn't beat say, a red hot LSU and Burrow in the SEC in Atl.

this is complete drivel

lots of schools have to rebuild, florida is doing it at the same time UT is and they look competent. UT doesn't look anywhere near it.

I'd be stunned if pruitt can outwork kirby.

kirby was also a rookie and took his lumps year 1. He got total buy in from the players that his plan would work and year 2 was amazing. Pruitt lost to ga state and byu in year 2 and there is seemingly zero buy in whatsoever.

Smart inherited a top flight talented roster,

it was better than what pruitt inherited but this is so incredibly overblown. In kirby's first season we had:

-A TFr QB having to adjust from washington to the SEC
-2 good RBs, one of which was just 8 months removed from his leg being torn to bits
-our best WR was a 5'8" dude.
-some promising but underachieving LBs
-a former walkon starting at CB
-an OL that started a transfer from rhode island at LT and a guy naturally built for a G at RT

There was some talent but it's not like he inherited the 2017 and onward version of the roster

Does this count as a humble brag still?

The disappointment from LSU and Georgia fans this year is going to be hilarious. Don't disappear once Bama drops 50 on both, OP.
