Officiating in the SEC......an issue?

This issue is increasing every week and it's bound to get worse as we are halfway through the season.
After last night's debacle at the Texas/UGA game, what's going to happen next?
Are the refs working for Vegas? There has been numerous missed calls, or, called back touchdowns.
There is a YouTube channel called "Rigged Sports Media" that have featured quite a few SEC matchups of suspicion. Yes, the LSU/SoCar game is one of them.
So post your thoughts below as this issue continues to ravage on. We probably know where the next level gets their zebras.

We’ve always had the worst refs. Where ya been, bro?

It’s always been this way in the SEC. This is nothing new.

SEC refs aren’t the worst. They ref in the highest-stakes games. So every mistake they make is amplified.
That’s not a defense of them. But you can find far worse refs than the ones that work our games.

Officiating across CFB is an issue. Need league-wide professional refs

This is getting magnified because now have to wonder if Vegas is getting involved. It's already ruined the next level.

I believe your matchup vs. LSU will be next. LSU has already been involved in one questionable game.

Check out calls in the UK Florida game. We were pushing in a score and they blew the whistle about forward progress being stopped when the pile never stopped moving.
Then shortly after, they gave Florida a td when the guy was down at the 1 yard line, not remotely close to a score.
It probably didn't impact how the game played out, but those were 2 truly awful calls.

Calls that can be possibly game changers.

Serious question: Why doesn't the SEC just pour money at the problem to fix it? Maybe a partnership with the NFL to create a professional path for referrees?

That's an eye opener.....

The SEC needs to publish a grade for each ref by Wed after than game. The head of officiating should have to hold a weekly press conference.

Maybe they should look at the ref’s allegiances before selecting the team. Just a thought

This thread is cute in that people think this is a mere incompetency issue.
The SEC has always been corrupt with football officiating. Not necessarily incompetent, though there is some of that. Corrupt.

Holding should be a 5 yards penalty for one. It's clearly a lever they use to tilt games.

How much money is wagered on CFB? Of course it’s manipulated.

Dear, Gaius,
Money has created the problem. Try again. LOL!

A combination of incompetence and corruption. They can both exist at the same time. See the Democratic Party for a bigger example.

What needs to happen also is to allow broadcasters to criticize openly all calls as they see fit without fear of reprisals.
