Good question, assuming arky wins this week and a&m loses, does a&m lose their 2nd place spot?

I would hope not but it could happen.

I think it really depends on how the games are played. If A&M makes it a game late into the 4th then I still would put them ahead of Arky.

A&M would still have a better record, better conference record, a head to head win, and a the same loss (to Bama)

I understand the theory of Power Rankings, but why would A&M drop for losing to the best team in college football, after already beating Arkansas. And Arkansas got blown out by Bama.

That would make zero sense to me unless maybe we have another 59-0 game, and even then I'm not sure I'd put Arkansas over them.

Vanderbilt has played at Georgia's homecoming three times in the last three decades. Each time they have left with a road upset.

Note to UGa - scheduling Vandy for homecoming is apparently a very bad idea.

Power rankings rank how good a team is going into the next week. The farther away those games get, the less influence they should have

If TAMU loses 100-0 and Arkansas/Auburn wins 100-0, a pretty dang good argument can be made that Arkansas/Auburn are a better team going into week 9 than TAMU

LSU sitting at 7 is pretty funny too when you think about all the preseason boasting.

LSU is better than 7th best in the SEC, but they don't have the wins/résumé to be ranked higher currently.

A 4-1 finish is possible. Would be a good season, given the start.

Ya, they are maybe 6th and if really stretching it, 5th.

A 1-4 finish is just as possible.

4-1 is more likely than 1-4.

LSU will be favored in at least 3 of their remaining 5 games. Probably 4.

11/19 / Florida / Home / 72.6%
11/12 / Arkansas / Away / 65.6%
10/22 / Mississippi / Home / 63.5%
11/24 / Texas A&M / Away / 33.3%
11/05 / Alabama / Home / 18.8%

Favored in 3/5. You're about as likely to go 3-2 as 2-3 based on the #s.

Psychologically speaking we've already won the Florida game so I count that one as a W already.

There's a pretty decent chance LSU is favored against aTm if they go 3-1 in their next 4.

Sorry, but it's true. LSU has won the game five years in a row, and our running game matches up well with aTm's questionable rushing defense.

Only way LSU is favored is if A&M falls apart.

What happened 3 or 4 years ago has no relevance on this game. Hell, last year barely matters.

In terms of the point spread, it absolutely could.

If there's no sharp side, the line could follow whoever the public is on. LSU winning the game 5 years in a row could push the line some.

I think LSU will be favored in the aTm game, if they win 3 of the next 4. Just a prediction.

No. Momentum is key in power rankings, but body of work is still relevant and it isn't based just on last week.

#2, 4-0 in the SEC, and 3-0 against the next 3 in the rankings.

I'll take it.
