"Academic scholarships" just got some nice donations from OM boosters.

People are also missing the damage this has already caused.
Top 10 classes are a thing of the past. Freeze out. Situation so tenuous they had to hire their interim.
They were damaged heavily before the sanctions even came down, and now with the two year bowl ban there will likely be some heavy losses in transfers.
Don't forget, they are also on probation so it would take some MASSIVE balls to keep the bag man running around in Oxford.

False. They have only reduced 3 the last 2 years, and have 10 more over the next 2 years. Then they can't oversign after that to get back to 85 total with the new rules. Plus, the ones that can transfer. Ole Miss will be at 70 scholarship players in 2 years.
Patently false. Factually untrue.
At no point will Ole Miss dip below 79 scholarships. Next year we will have 81.
Math is hard for some people!

I think OM should be the first to charge outta the trench into No Man's Land and see what happens. Just start brazenly cheating again and see if the NCAA does anything about it. Maybe we'll finally see the end of the NCAA and we can all rejoice.

Yea if I were the OM admin I'd be telling the NCAA..."Yes sir...Thank you" just hoping that they get out of town.
Now he is going to draw this out some more with an appeal and the scrutiny of the NCAA (which granted isn't worth much probably) will still be on OM. He better hope nothing else comes out.....he can't afford anymore diarrhea of the mouth.

Somewhat misleading. You won't go below 79 assuming zero attrition. Where the new rule hurts is that it will likely take a full 4 years after sanctions to get back to 85 legitimate schollies.
It could take less, but signing 25 per year only leaves room to lose <4 per class to attrition. And that's assuming 25 per year, and we know some of the lower end guys will are low quality even without scrambling to get a full 25.

Numbers always have a way of working out.

Yeah they do, doesn't mean they will work out the way you want. The big threat here to you guys is a big Exodus of players. If you have 10+ transfers and can't recruit well due to sanctions, youre going to have to sign 25 trash guys (who take 4-5 years to filter out after) for the next 2 years just to fill out the roster. That or essentially self impose more scholarship restrictions and not take a full 25.

Doesn't sound like much for all the shenanigans that went on at OM.

Only next year Seniors are eligible for transfer.
