I think you may just be trolling, but seriously, if anything, we kept our goals in place by making this hire. We have the same players and systems going into this season, and the only difference will be Paul calling the plays instead of Bobby.

Ultimate you do realize how bad this is going to hurt recruiting right?

No shite?

You do realize Interim Head Coach is going to hurt recruiting right? Who it actually is makes no difference.

Interim was going to happen this year from the get go, Long had every intention of current staff member or John L for a season as HC.

I really don't even think Long looked that hard beyond Interim from Day 1.

Now he'll take his time and get to evaluate and get a Head Coach when they are actually available following a season, not in the Spring.

My original reaction was negative, but now that I have calmed down I have changed my perspective. This is an 8 month stop gap and after looking at it clearly, this is the best hire Long could have made given the F'ed up circumstances.

You really are the eternal optimist. You could have hired some Joe off the street, and you would spin it.

I'm being realistic. We have the same exact playerss, with the same exact systems, with the same exact schedule, and the only difference is Paul calling the plays instead of Bobby. Vegas agrees with me, and you know Vegas isn't just some eternally optimistic homer.

Alabama went from 10-3 to 4-9 after the Fran to Price to Shula handoff. And they brought back a lot too. I'm not saying Arkansas is falling that far, but you can forget about the BCS.

If the Hogs ink Gruden mid-season recruiting may not suffer, Urban Meyer set the waiver precedent last year.John Smith can coach the squad in preparation for the title game in Miami, while Chuckie unverbalizes blue chips ultimately get an Arkansas letter of intent

I see both 14-0 and the nations # 1 recruiting class next year
