Firing Bobby Petrino and hiring _________ cost us wins.
We all would've said the same thing if Taver or Paul were hired as interim. Do you realize we were probably looking at a pool of 3-4 people that would accept an interim HC role? I mean who else did you realistically think we'd get by going this route?

John L Smith approached Arkansas and understands this is basically a one year deal to coach a contender
LOL. Yeah, not so much anymore.

I take it back, if this is a one and done and his contract really is for LESS than one year, then I am good with it.

After the 2002 season, Smith was hired as the head coach at Michigan State, which created controversy because Smith was hired before Louisville's bowl game that season, and he did not inform his Louisville players of the decision until halftime of the bowl game, which they lost to Marshall.

No idea why people are upset...we wanted interim, we're getting it. This is better than expecting one of the other coaches to pull double duty, especially considering none have ever been head coaches.
The kids love him, he knows the goals/offense/defense/etc. As long as he lets everyone call their own plays, I'm good with it.

This season will be a fricking embarrassment and not worth watching.

I would cry if he had a multi-year contact FWIW

so why not just promote paul, why bring in someone we know can't get it done and not let someone else get a shot at proving themselves. This was the worst case scenario and not because he is an interim and we didn't get gruden.

I guess Petrino paid attention to his mentor well though.
