Eh, there are some posters who truly just enjoy sharing info like this. Pio loves to share basketball info even when it looks bad for the team he roots for

Georgia has allowed a grand total of 2 plays over 20 yards all season. That's incredible.
Part of that is the defense, part of that is what teams have decided to try and do against us (heavy on the quick passing game rather than attempting deep balls). It's also somewhat of an explanation for the lacking havoc rate to this point (last in sacks in FBS I believe). I'm interested to see what happens this week and then the LSU games on that front for sure.

Agreed. LSU's offense doesn't look explosive but it looks more consistent and safe. Also, for some reason Ensminger called *awful* second halves against both MIA and SELU.

Why is it so hard for people to understand that there are a few of us who just geek out over stats... no ulterior motive involved?
Pinged dude who was creating the Five Factors visuals last year to see what's up. I haven't even seen Connelly posting the raw data though this year, so may not be an option which is a bummer.
Have you seen any source that shows either Yards after catch or "air yards" for passing success for college? I see those stats all the time for NFL, but seems to be untracked for college. Had some things I wanted to look into.

No - the only time I see them are randomly from some of those advanced stat twitter accounts. I don't know a place that has them in totality.

K. Same for me. Was just hoping I'd missed something.

But mah Tua

quote:i never used the word explosive. i posted a stat. 19 completions over 10 yds which is 53% of the passes (given the stated qualifier) against 2 defenses on the road is absolutely respectable. you can make of it what you will but, burrow's passes are accurate and he's clearly throwing downfield successfully.
to act like LSU is actually really explosive passing is pretty silly
quote:no one knows that because my "cherry picked" stat equates to 2 full games. lsu would have to play another full game ceteris parabis
Even the cherry picked "when they are trying and when they actually complete a pass" stats would still have them in the middle or lower 1/3 of the SEC

You honestly think Alabama's numbers would not be higher if Tua was left in the games for more? Remember, he's not just coming out in the 4th quarter for blowouts, he's also splitting time with Hurts - who has been effective, but less explosive.
Mond - 35 passes of 10+ yards in 89 att - 1 per 2.54 att
Tua - 22 passes of 10+ yards in 50 att - 1 per 2.27 att
Mond - 18 passes of 20+ yards in 89 att - 1 per 4.94 att
Tua - 11 passes of 20+ yards in 50 att - 1 per 4.55 att
Yup. MAH TUA.

TOTAL OFFENSE YDS/PLAY IN SEC:
1. Tua = 11.55 yds/play
2. K. Thompson = 11.39 yds/play
3. K. Hill= 9.16 yds/play
4. J. Ta'amu= 9.14 yds/play (surprising given the UA D factored in)
5. D. Lock = 9.08 yds/play
