Well we don't have to worry about SCAR running away with it this week at least.

Arkansas' stats look much better once you factor in the all important altitude factors

Honestly very weird to see us up on these lists. Mullen wasn't a sling it downfield type of guy.

Ladies and Gentlemen, introducing the weekly ranking thread that means nothing but Aggies need to rejoice in being ranked 1st In Something.

Do they have this for Defense? LSU's should be pretty decent.

It definitely means something. Although how much it means is up for debate. Explosive plays are the new hotness.
Also, as a rule of thumb, any ranking that Bama is around the top of, you want to be doing well in too.

Interesting but pretty meaningless just 3 weeks into the season.

Kentucky and Vanderbilt haven't allowed a single play over 40 yards this year. Texas A&M has allowed 7.
Georgia has allowed a grand total of 2 plays over 20 yards all season. That's incredible.
Texas A&M has allowed 7 plays > 40, 4 plays > 50 and 3 plays > 60.

It will change as competition ramps up but I certainly don't think it is meaningless.
For instance, LSU only had 11 plays > 10+ yards vs SELU (A&M had 33 vs NW St). That number would rank last all by itself, regardless of performances vs Auburn or Miami. LSU is a good team with strengths, but it is pretty clear they will not be an explosive offense unless things drastically change.

You would think that your superior Vandy intellect would have figured this out already, but SC has only played 2 games. Therefore, it's impossible for them to have an average of 0.3 explosive plays per game. So obviously, whomever did this, took SC stats for 2 games and divided them by three. Of course they are going be be lower than everybody else with 1/3 less data points.
