LSU has won one natty in a big three sport the past ten years. We are on the verge of two.

So what you're saying is it's 1 vs 1.

Proudly touted as “America’s national pastime,” Major League Baseball has fallen a long way in recent decades. The sport that has long been considered a staple of American society has significantly faded in relevance as of late.

Whether it’s for a lack of innovation in the game, mishandled cheating scandals, poor marketing or financial greed from both owners and players alike, it seems that, since its origin, the MLB has always been behind the eight ball in regard to advancing the sport and satisfying its fans.

quote:

These issues have manifested into rapidly declining viewership and attendance among fans. Last year, the MLB reached a 37-year low in total game attendance during the regular season. In doing so, 2021 attendance dropped a staggering 33.9% when compared to just two years prior in 2019, which could also partially be attributed to the recent pandemic. However, the 2021 MLB season also acted as the eighth-straight season in which the sport’s attendance declined. As for viewership, the MLB experienced a 12% drop in leaguewide household average from the 2019 season to the 2021 season.

What a shitty sport.

It doesn't hurt that it was in the one that really counts for branding.

The Big 3 Fallacy is that it ignores the fact that college athletics is really just the Big 1 + Mens BB and then the others. Football makes more than all other sports combined.

Baseball is even below the fake sport of women's basketball.

College football attendance declining

So by your logic, college football is a dying sport also. So dumb.

Don't get it

Isn't revenue the bottom line when it comes to relevance?

What have they brought to the table?

No Vanderbilt, no SEC

Dr Dudley started it all
Charter SEC school
Kramer (who added Hogs and Cocks and SEC CCG) was former Vanderbilt AD
Whupped Utx in CFB so bad they started playing OU at the State Fair instead
Newton (coached at Vanderbilt) added the shot clock and 3 pt shot to NCAA
2 CWS
Only SEC school with Bowling Natty's
Still operate on the honor code
Educated Grantland Rice (probably before your time but huge) and Willie Geist
6 or more Nobel Prize winners including Max (the bacteria and virus guy) Delbruck

Just a few things off the top of my head

See, there you have it. You equate "value" with what schools have done "lately". Pretty fricking stupid.

Their 5 year academic avg among P5 institutions from the SI report is #14. UgA is 19.

Bama and OU still made top 10 being in the 50s academically Go sports!

What has LSU won in the NIL/Portal era?

Era?

Era???

Two or three years doesn't constitute a fricking era.

This is fallacy as well

CFB = no NCAA takeout
MCBB = NCAA takeout

If the same money that now goes to the NCAA for MCBB suddenly went to the schools and conferences it would be the Big 2, not the Big 1. Pretty sure the NCAA MCBB tourney rights are currently over 1 Billion (with a B) a year, and that is not exactly couch change.

Yes it does you moron. The NIL/Portal did not exist prior to three years ago. Therefore, this is the NIL/portal era.

You’re really dumb.
