LSUs biggest, in my opinion, will be getting 5-8 yards on early downs with the running and short passing game. I’m worried about the young linebackers keeping LSU off schedule

yeah if Brady can vary the calls enough and Burrow can make the right reads when Bama brings their exotic calls, that's our chance in this game. Clyde Edwards-Helaire has been the X factor for us & I think one of the more underrated players in the league that i've seen, but I also know Harris has been really coming on himself in recent weeks.

These teams really are very similar, but you've got one of if not the best ever head coaches so it's really hard not to think Bama figures out a way to find those little edges you need to win a game like this. I remember how well he did that for us at LSU & obviously he's been doing the same thing at Alabama for a long long time. Ed has done 1000% better than I expected here but he's just not Nick Saban, nobody is.

This is a pretty evenly matched game and I agree that bama probably has a slight advantage because of coaching and home field.
With games like this, it's usually the little things that make the difference. Taking advantage of field position, punting, solid tackling, avoiding turnovers.

I expect bama to bust a few big plays, their receivers and QB are that good. I expect LSU to make some big plays, our receivers and QB are that good.

The team that avoids turnovers and doesn't have negative plays at the wrong time probably wins this one. But, it can go either way. Should be a great game.

Solid analysis, the intangible that you did not mention is L8U. This will be a factor. I believe these guys (LSU) will be ultra motivated, and bring home victory.

If those kids play well, LSU is in trouble. They haven't seen this kind of atmosphere and pressure in college yet. If they adjust well, Bama probably wins at home. If LSU can get them out of position and get some chunk plays, I think LSU will pull it out.

It's really going to be fascinating watching the freshman on defenses on both sides and seeing how they handle the situation. LSU's freshman CBs going against those WRs is scary for us.

You don't generally get into the 45-40 type games without tons of big plays and/or bad tackling.

Both of these defenses have faults but neither gives up a bunch of big plays.

Yeah, both offenses will likely get the better of the opposing defense to some degree. However, I would think that will be mainly some long drives with a lot of 4-8 yard pass plays that eat clock and are more consistent with a 34-27 type game.

Good stuff

I’d add that y’all definitely have the advantage in punting and place kicking.

Gonna c be a great game

Place kicker has been a little shaky lately. Don't be surprised if LSU goes for it on 4th and less than 4 or 5 around the 30-35 yard line.

Bad memories, bro?

I can't imagine how the 2011 regular season game was to sit through as a Bama fan.

If we don't score a TD by the 3rd offensive possession game over.

He’s not bad but has definitely been shaky lately.

I’m just glad we’ve got a kicker/coach that will put the ball out the end zone on kickoffs

Bad memories suggest it's some sort of past experience. It is a very present day experience.

He's also a true freshman kicking on the road in the biggest game and atmosphere he's ever played in. There's no telling how he's going to react to the pressure considering he's been struggling a bit. Hopefullu they identified his issue and it was just a twerk in his mechanics.

I hear ya. I was just thinking of that one game. But, then I remembered that it's probably kind of the same as the feeling we had of Yeldon running untouched for the game winning TD in Tiger Stadium. Just brutal.

I don't get excited or amped up during the week too much anymore like I used to. But, the night before I start to get antsy and usually have trouble sleeping. Then, on game day of course I'm useless to do anything other than being fat and lazy in front of the TV.

I still get nervous/excited for big games but I’m talking about the aftermath. The 2009 Ole Miss game and 2014 Alabama game made me mad at the world for a good 48 hours.

I’m better now
