We struggled to understand why 3 kings visited the birth of Christ, and why the lowliest human, the Shepherd, is also part of the story. We visited Israel in 2016. Our guide brought us to where the Sheppards lived. That’s how important the Shepherd are in the birth of Christ.
When the birth of Jesus was finally written, they wanted Jesus to be a common man not known only as a king. The Shepherd was the poorest of the poorest human, so they included them to make all mankind feel welcomed to appreciate our Lord and Savior. .

So, the whole thing is fabricated???

Fabricated is a strong word. “Fit the narrative” might be the proper term. Our guide in Israel was not a Christian.

Considering there is more historical evidence that Jesus existed than Julius Caesar yet no one would deny his existence, whether or not you believe he was the Son of God is a different decision

If you don’t like the thread Cheer, just stay out of it. Mocking people’s beliefs really isn’t as cool as you apparently think it is.

Was he Jewish? Should have got the guide that would have fit your narrative.

Is this what you do? If you don't like a comment, just scroll on by and "stay out of it"?
I wonder if Jesus played fullback in the SEC, and this is why this post belongs here?

None of these fairy tales are true. Not even a little bit. As a child, you were brainwashed into a cult. If you had been born in India or Qatar, you would have been brainwashed into a different cult. Have the courage to be a grown-up.

Simply not true.

Yeah, I didn't want to be the one to tell him. I'm already getting scolded.

People that don’t feel connected to anything can go to a decent church and immediately connect with people that they have never met. These people deeply connect with them. It’s not because these people are infallible and amazing. They are called to do so despite the faults and shortcomings and can build amazing relationships. Sometimes, people just need someone to lean on and listen.
I’ll be honest I stopped going to church years ago because I hated the people in there. Nothing but judgemental asswipes. I just pray and have my own personal relationship with God I don’t need church for that

As you borrow from a transcendent ethos, to invite an individual to display a virtue not necessary in your world view.
Also a cult by definition is the abuse of a preexisting orthodoxy by a self aggrandizing living individual.
If Jesus is currently alive 2000 years later He has the right to be self promoting.
And if He’s dead He fails the definition of a cult.
