Why do we have to run the ball if we can control the game and the clock with the pass? As long as Bray has time to throw and we convert 3rd and 4th and short on the ground, it doesn't matter that we aren't running the ball. Why be balanced for the sake of being balanced. Tennessee not being able to run the ball vs. Florida's D is the most overblown matchup of this game.

Most great teams are balanced on offense, and can run the ball when they want to, which leads to the ability to control the clock, tempo of the game, and to sell play action.

Having a great passing attack is great, but the pass game can always break down, whether it be due to playing a better defense or the QB just having a bad day.

Look at recent history of UF vs. OU, Ole Miss vs. Texas Tech, Bama vs. Texas, all of these were great pass heavy teams that got shut down by SEC defenses, then they tried to run and couldn't do that either, and we all know how these games turned out.

Great examples of bowl games where teams had 45 days to prepare. Those were great defenses you referenced in Florida and Bama. I'm not even getting into the Ole Miss-TT bowl game. Good Lord, you are reaching to backup your "point" which doesn't apply to this game.

You are so right. Sorry I used facts to try to backup a point. The ability to run the ball is a non factor in most football games.

Good luck tomorrow!

3 sporadic facts from bowl games where teams had 45-51 days to prepare. Good fact finding mission there. I'm glad that ability to run the ball is so important. Why didn't it help us beat Florida in 2000 when Travis Henry ran for 180 yards?

2001* You're not a real UT fan if you can't remember the details of that game...

If you guys want a good laugh, go read VolNation. They think they're going to steamroll UF tomorrow...

Henry had 175 yards against UF in 2000. Travis Stephens was the back that diced you guys up in the swamp in '01. Maybe you need to refresh your memory on the details before you callout others when theyre right.

Wow, really? haha, It's just that I've been talking to so many Vols fans near me about that 2001 game this week.

Oh, Jabar Gaffney says hi

Florida should get the advantage because they're superior on both lines of scrimmage and have a better running game. UT has a better QB and WR. Defensively, UT doesn't have a single positional advantage over UF.

By God if your toilet ever gets clogged and needs to be plunged we got the advantage.

So there.

I dont really understand why some of our fans are talking shite about a team we haven't beat in seven years.

Well, if we don't talk shite now, we won't have the chance to after the game.

We are going to whip their asses up and down the field all day long.

Braybow will tell our team at half that we have 30 minutes for the rest of our life. He will tell them that he's kind of a big deal, that he has many leather bound books and his apartment smells of rich mahogany.

Vols, bitch.

volnation football forum is full of delusional fans, they still have fulmer and kiffin fights. I go there mostly for recruiting info (you may have to sift through filth to find useful information but its worth it imo).

As for the game, I don't think anyone can be truly confident in what the outcome will be, two young, talented, and unproven teams on the rise with a coach that is 2 games in with a new system and the other is still getting his players he needs for his styles on offense and defense.

Bray has been proclaimed the second coming (note volnation bray vs manning threads) after shredding 8 lower level teams (sans UNC). This is Brays first REAL opponent and his first road game and that will be interesting to see how he reacts.

I think this game will really come down to Florida O vs UT D..can wilcox show the different looks he likes to employ and can the D tackle the UF RBs. There's my rant/thought on the game..

Go Vols my only prediction will be T. Poole gets 100+ yards (and it won't be a pretty 100)

I have an uneasy feeling about this game. We need the D to step up. Justin Wilcox needs to prove something today. GBO!

Most fans and posters from all schools are overzealous to say the least.

UF has more talent, experience, and depth. I think UF will win.

The thing that is exciting for first time since 2001 is that Vol fans believe that the offense can keep us in the game. With a break here and there, a turnover, or a big play on special teams, the game could get interesting.

Controlling the game and clock passing really made me laugh.
This game will be close for a while, but UF will control the lines and win. We will control the clock and game with our running game.
Remember the name Joyer.
