DUDE, we all could go to South Bend for a college road trip, you gotta want that!

ETA: and I am on the record for saying Tech is a dumpster fire, no offense to dumpster fires.

If ND played Mizzou's schedule in 2012 they wouldn't of played 'Bama last year or made a BCS game for that matter. I say SEC boycotts Notre Dame til they join a conference.

I guarantee once ESPN and Fox Sports 1 team up to end NBC Sports they will join a conference. No self respecting sports network would show every Notre Dame game.

Pretty much. Both teams return exactly 19/22 starters. This year's game will look nothing like last year's. Yet, everyone keeps saying shite like, "they hung 60 on old piss hurrr de hurrrrrp... Old myth sux ask Mack brown they suk"

So you really thing you're gonna win that game?

If we're talking a regular season game where each team has one week to prepare, I think ND would be competitive against all of the SEC.

Last years Irish schedule :
Navy (8-4) - pretty much every team in the SEC could beat Navy last season.
Purdue (6-6) - pretty much every team in the SEC could beat Purdue last season and Irish only won by 3.
Michigan State (6-6) - 75% of SEC teams could beat Michigan State last season.
Michigan (8-4) - 75% of SEC teams could beat Michigan last season and Bama and Cocks proved it. Irish only won by 7.
Miami (6-6) - 75% of SEC teams could beat Miami last season and Duke beat them.
Stanford (10-2) - 50% of SEC teams could beat Stanford last season and Irish needed OT and a favorable call to do it.
BYU (8-4) - 50% of SEC teams could beat BYU last season and Irish only managed 3 point win
Oklahoma (10-2) - 50% of SEC teams could beat Oklahoma last season and TAMU destroyed them in bowl game.
Pittsburgh (6-6) - 75% of SEC teams could beat Pitt last season and Ole Miss waxed them in the bowl game. It took Irish 3 OT's
Boston College (2-10) - pretty much every team in the SEC could beat BC last season. Irish only did it by about 2 touchdowns.
Wake Forest (5-7) pretty much every team in the SEC could beat Wake last season.
Southern Cal (7-5) - 50% of SEC teams could beat Southern Cal last season and Irish only managed about 1 TD for the win.

Bama > Notre Dame
Bama + USC > Michigan = Notre Dame
TAMU > Oklahoma = Notre Dame
Ole Miss > Pitt = Notre Dame
Vanderbilt > Wake Forest < Notre Dame

Last season Irish losses :
Alabama, Georgia, Texas A&M, South Carolina, Florida, LSU, Vanderbilt, and Ole Miss.

Last season Irish games that could go either way :
Mississippi State and maybe Missouri

Irish probable wins but not assured :
Arkansas, Auburn, Tennessee, and Kentucky

I agree.

In fantasy land, UGA withdraws from the SEC and has annual matchups with:

Clemson
Florida
Auburn
Georgia Tech
Notre Dame
Midling Div 1 team like Wisconsin or Mich St, nothing permanent, a home and home.

We'd have more than zero NC's in the last 32 years.

This...I am looking at the Ole Miss schedule from last year trying to figure out how a team that lost to every good team they played would beat a team that was able to make the national championship.

Better coaching? ND had better talent, but it takes some arse-tastic coaching to crap the bed the way they did multiple times with that much talent on their roster.

OM wouldn't have crushed ND, but I'd have laid money that they'd give ND better competition than Pitt did...and that would give them a puncher's chance of winning. Part of ND's problem was that it hadn't faced the sort of bruising line play that Bama brought to the table. OM, on the other hand, had faced it more than once, and knew what to expect from a supposedly great defense.

They've been decent at times, no question, but it's not on the level of playing Florida State or Clemson every year.

That high-school offense can be difficult to defend for some teams, though. It's easy to figure out, but not always quite as easy to stop.

Why? Like y'all said you both return basically the same team, the odds you get the Longhorn Network are extremely low so I'm assuming you aren't going to watch the teasips play... why not just tell me now?

There is no incentive and nothing to be gained for the SEC by agreeing to play ND. There is no extra exposure to pick up, no legitimacy to be gained by curbstomping them, and no new recruiting grounds to explore.

The SEC, or in this case UGA, assumes all risk with no real benefit to show.

McGarity would be foolish to accept, though if ND approaches him and he turns them down, he'll look like he's a coward. Still, I wouldn't sign up for this.

I don't feel like doing research but I feel that Tech has a much better history than Clemson.

Seriously? Why does everybody seem to forget that Boise was ranked #5 and Georgia was #19 when that game was played? Sheeeesh. Give it a rest.

In terms of total wins and winning percentage, they're pretty close to even. Technically, GT does lead Clemson in both categories, but not by much. But Clemson is currently a better program, I'd say.

I was under the impression that Notre Dame had a month to prepare, too. Did they not? What am I missing?

Damn dude. I know it's hard, but try not to be such a douche.

I'll be watching it on an affiliate since I'm north MS.

I think we'll contend no matter what, but I'm not prepared to call the W quite yet. After I see what we look like against Vandy that may change. Pretty simple.
