Would have still had to beat Georgia probably.

ETA - But yeah, I think that's probably Kelly's worst loss at LSU.

Aggie played a damn near perfect game that night.

10/15 on third down and no turnovers. LSU's one turnover was a scoop n' score for Aggie.

Devon Achane was a monster that night too.

They should've came out and kept throwing in the second half.

Day got scared and would've choked it away had the score been closer.

Agreed.

LSU was #5 in the playoff poll when they got whipped by the 5-7 Aggies in 2022. But carry on with your revisionist history

If LSU had beaten A&M, it still would have lost to Georgia in the SECCG and not made the playoffs. Do you not understand?

Once Jayden got hurt, it was for sure over. He wasn't that great of a passer at that point so LSU was screwed.

According to what? He’s the winningest active head coach in college football right now, the only thing missing from his resume is a national title, that’s it, he’s done everything else

Against top ten opponents, Kelly carded a 3-8 record with five of the eight games being losses of more than two touchdowns. This 27% success rate against the best teams in the biggest games

He's had one big win at LSU and lost every opener. Who cares about percentages ? Look who he played at Notre Dame.

Marcus Freeman is taking Notre Dame football to another level. The Irish win big games now.

Did Freeman win a natty at ND and I slept thru it??

Tied with the Florida loss in 24. Followed closely by the USC loss.

This isn't even true. Kirk Ferentz has 9 more wins than Brian Kelly.

The only thing missing from Kirk Ferentz' resume is a national title, that's it, he's done everything else

Unlike Kelly, Ferentz has won a big time conference.

He's like 3-4 at LSU vs top 10, which is decent IMO.

I feel like he's way too aggressive when he goes into games as an underdog, it pays off here and there (2022 Bama) but usually leads to big beatdowns.

Kelly's only coached in a "big time conference" in what, 3 seasons?

This is a dumb flex, considering Kelly was at Notre Dame most of his career.

Kelly did win the Big East his last 2 seasons in it before jumping to Notre Dame.

Did Georgia’s quarterback play against Notre Dame?

That's how you can tell people are just reaching for reasons as to why he's supposedly a bad coach.

It's weird how people hold BK to these standards that they don't even hold their own guys to.

Getting outcoached by Napier and losing to USC has me never expecting much from him. Doubt he has a losing season at LSU but I don't expect much from him. He's arrogant and mouthy with little results.

Today ? I would take Freeman and Dillingham over him along with a few others. I wanted a younger coach when he was hired.

Ferentz hasn't won the B1G outright.

Kelly has had multiple undefeated regular seasons, played for a national championship, and made the playoff.

Kelly also wins many more games on average than Ferentz.

There's no comparison between the two.

It's a fact.

The original poster said he was only missing a NC and was the winningest coach. He's missing an SEC title or a B1G title or a p4 conference title

Easy.

2023 - Victory over the Heisman Trophy winner on a 10-win team and a blowout, dominant victory over #10 Penn State.

#12 LSU and #13 Penn St aren't even top10 wins, much less big game wins.

Georgia last year was a legit big win for him, and it was his first.

I'd take Kiffin over BK or Sark though. Lane's biggest issues are maturity, work ethic and those stupid fricking analytics.

Fair enough on age, I'd take some other guys over him just based on that as well.
