Sure, that was their sole win over a more talented team.
Kelly was able to beat a highly ranked, more talented team without their starting quarterback too so really nothing new there.

This upcoming season will tell us a lot about Freeman. He's now a "Top 5" coach and Notre Dame is now supposedly better and stronger than ever with no Brian Kelly and expecting to seriously contend for a National Championship.
The win total heading into the season is 10.5 with games at Miami, vs A&M, at Arkansas, vs Boise St, and vs USCw.

Nah, I think he just wants Freeman's win over a UGA squad without QB1 (in which Notre Dame was favored) presented in the same light as Kelly's win over a Clemson squad without QB1 (in which Notre Dame was still a moderate underdog).

Beck had been playing pretty well after the Ole Miss loss with 11 TDs and no INTs in the games vs Tennessee, UMass, and Ga Tech. He then got hurt in the SEC Championship.
I'm just not ready to say Freeman is better for Notre Dame than Kelly until I see him put together a 2nd strong season.

That’s like setting the bar really high for Freeman to impress you, and cutting BK a lot of slack in his bar to impress.

It could be worse, we could have been LSU fans asking to fire Jimbo after year 1, year 2, year 3. Granted, Sidewalk was probably responsible for half those trolls.
