who on the '26 schedule is not historically bad? USC and? Miami? Miami is good sometimes. That's it.

So years in advance argument does not hold water in this case.

ND wants its independence. Fine. But you are not independent in reality. You by contract must play 5 ACC teams each year. That leaves 7 holes to fill each year.

With the SEC going to 9+1 that leaves 2 preseason exhibition games to play along with a P4 game in September before conference play.

After September, no room left for anyone else but SEC games.

There is only one conference in football which makes sense for ND and that is the B10.

If you had gone 10-2 in the B10 you would have made the playoffs.

Yes, we understand that. That’s why we say it’s moronic not to play in a conference.

It's not really independence. They want to keep their tv money and bowl money and not share it the way you would have to in a conference.

I don't blame them if I could get away with it. It looks like some are tired of it. I don't blame those people either.

They dont know what the teams will look like when the year comes around that they play them. Take for example....in 2029...Notre Dame already has Texas, Alabama, Florida State and Clemson on the schedule. When they made these scheduled games...all these teams were bad asses. Who knows what they will look like in 2029? And this goes for all college scheduling....its not like you go year to year....its many years out.
Then join a conference or shut the hell up and stop whining. You don't get to stay independent and schedule whoever you want and then bitch and use to your piss poor schedule you created as an excuse. You beat one team with a pulse. Quit whining.

We know the scheduling is years ahead, the very weak schedules just happen. But there you are with a weak schedule and all home games other than 3. It is far weaker than any other team in the playoffs or top 25… so what can you do oth3r than acknowledge you have a very weak schedule and almost all home games and are not demonstrating you belong in the playoff….

Maybe one year the schedule might be tough H other than all those home games” then you benefit except for all those home games……

Hear what you are saying, but other than the two teams the Irish lost to this year, every one of the others has been horrible now and many years into the past. So, they were bad even when you scheduled them.

Exactly! Just sent a similar response. No one on that list of wins has been good in the last 20 years.

Listen to this guy, if anyone knows what a cowardly, chickenshit schedule its UGA fans. They are experts on pussy schedules.

And yet when the Gumps made their argument about why they should be in the playoff, "We got the best win of errrbody, Pawl". And who might that win be?
I don't even care any more. I remember when we got that 2024 schedule and you all were saying "Finally" and we just went out and won the conference...again. I was expecting a good game Saturday. You all tapped out before the second half kickoff.

Nice having a Domer on the rant. Hope more will post here. One final thought on the scheduling subject.

Have your ND friends looked at the recently released ‘26 SEC schedule.

Let’s say you had OU’s schedule for ‘26, would you and other ND fans not be excited to play such a schedule?

10-2 with that schedule most definitely gets you in the upcoming 16 game playoff.

Staying a part of ACC weakens your strength of schedule.

I personally would love to have ND in the SEC, but I understand why the B10 would be a better fit culturally.

This is the best rationale for Notre Dame joining a major conference, where they know the quality will be there whenever

Ya scheduling Stanford. navy. Syracuse. Pittsburgh. Boston college….lol. Doesn’t take a genius to figure out those schools will still be terrible in the future. You’re an idiot.

This has nothing to do with 2025. If they go 10-2 with that schedule and those teams are good, they will strengthen their resume.

The SEC has created a bubble for themselves. They insulated the good teams with more than half the teams that are far below average. The top SEC teams play maybe 3 games that are above average conference teams a year.

Look at Ark this year. SEC teams played them fairly close for how bad they were, while ND blew them out and got the coach fired.

The SEC has a reputation built on a 3-4 teams and the rest are cup cakes.

At what point were any of the following difficult teams to play when you scheduled them?

Purdue
Arkansas
BSU
NCST
BC
Navy
Pitt
Syracuse
Stanford

All of those teams have been down for years with a few stand alone seasons.
