More needs to be said about this in the sports talk world, preferably before the CFP Committee begins ranking.

ND plays 10 cream puffs and only has to get up for two tough opponents on their whole schedule. Pundits ooh and ahh about the “eye test” they pass by beating up on bad and mediocre teams.

The pollsters don’t care that they have no wins against good teams, and don’t even demote them when they lose to the only ranked team they’ve faced.

Right now Kentucky, Ole Miss, and ND are all one-loss teams. But OM is 3-1 against ranked teams, Kentucky is 2-1, and Notre Dame is 0-1. Guess which one is ranked higher.

If Kentucky has the nation's No. 2 strength of schedule and a No. 2 record, what exactly have eight or nine teams ahead of Kentucky accomplished that outweighs those results?

Media needs that Catholics vs Convicts narrative for November 7.

Same with BYU, they basically just play Notre Dame and Utah.

Miami's only ranked matchup on their entire schedule is Notre Dame.

The #4 rank is prep for a loss to Miami and an unranked loss keeps ND in top 12

Are you new to College Football? Every single year it is the same shite. ND gets huge TV ratings when ranked high. So they rank them high every year. They will disappoint and be very average. But no worries. Next year will be the same exact thing.

Their schedule is SOFT but I wouldn't call NIL-era SMU a cream puff and Boston College hates them with a rivals passion and has given them fits in the past. 10 wins isn't a given and anything less than 10 and they are shoving someone out of their Bowl slot again instead of playing in the playoffs.

I don't disagree...what can we do about it? Quit watching? I used to punch holes in my walls when UGA lost. Saturday, I thought, yeah we are about to kill Auburn. And we started to. Then bad coaching decisions and dumb turnovers happen. And then I realized how much fun Saturdays could be when Florida beat Texas. Saturday was absolutely must watch football from noon-midnight. Gotta give it to any Auburn fan that is still here, yall did a great job of rolling the trees! Such is college football. Kentucky is new to this though, don't feel slighted. It's all relative (only 12 make it this year). Finish there

If you want me to tell you why ND is #4 it's because everyone was watching the game, and it was pass interference that wasn't called on the last play. Just being objective

Fair enough, if you think entry into the top 10 should be for teams that merely manage to avoid losses, instead of earning their ticket with good wins. I’m in the latter camp. I believe that by this point in the season, no team should be ranked top 10 unless they’ve got at least one win over a top 25 ranked team.

You’re exactly right. Notre Dame’s record really should be considered as undefeated. They are the only team in football that’s had bad calls not go their way.

This happens every year though… idk why you think this year is any different. They aren’t going to punish ND for being independent. They also have to prop the Miami game up for television. This is also the AP we’re talking about and all they see are scores and that #2 lost to #8 on the road by 4 and everything you talked about isn’t even discussed in their mind.

ND doesn't do bowls anymore, I thought.

Gotta be us! Thanks Florida for taking a two week suicide bombing on their schedule. Carolina beating the crap out of them will be the biggest head scratcher of all. Next in line would be Auburn beating Georgia. However Freeze got good talent in there and that QB Brown is a good one.

Everyone needs to get used to this. Coaches are fighting to get consistency out of their transfer teams.

The number of SEC teams that would have an equal or better record with the same schedule as Notre Dame is 11, maybe 12.

I have Notre Dame #16 in some rankings I've been working on using F+ as a power score. But that's using last weeks F+, I'm still waiting for an update.
