I would have to say that Auburn fans by and large are the most reasonable fans on this board.

Horrible look for Davis as a young guy trying to advance his career. Almost career killing.

Winning cure ALL and that basketball team is the soothing salve right now.

The whole things looks bad from the outside. One or two mishires might be bad luck, but this is starting to look something more like a streak.
I always thought Harsin was an oddball hire for Auburn. I know he's had stops in places that were SEC adjacent like Texas and Arkansas State, but those aren't Auburn, and Boise certainly isn't. Harsin has just seemed like a square peg in a round hole since day 1.
The Malzahn extesnion/buyout was a killer, for sure.

The J-H voodoo has turned on Auburn. This is the story here.
Nix hits the portal and they pickup someone who beat Bama.
Harsin trying to hit homeruns on staff hires but swinging at a whiffle ball.
Nothing new for Auburn.

but it seems like Harsin is going to do things his own way
I say good for him. If I am running a program and will be retained or fired based upon performance, I would want to do things my way, too.
If I get fired....let me get fired for what i did and not for doing something the way other people told me to do it.

It won't be easy, no doubt. People will be pulling him in both directions and patience will be in short supply if he does not do what they want him to do. BUT, if they will be patient and he gets things turned around it could pay off big time for them.

Auburn has never been known for patience. The coaching position has been a swinging door since Dye’s days.

"The last week has been difficult for me as I've made the decision to step away from coaching football," Davis said in a statement. "Auburn University and Coach Harsin have been tremendous through this whole process. I am grateful for the opportunity that was presented to me from a coaching standpoint and equally as important, the way Coach Harsin has handled my current situation.
"My decision to resign is 100 percent based on personal reasons. After more than a decade in the NFL with the daily grind as a player and coach I've realized how much I miss my family and my desire to spend more time with them. While I need to step away from coaching, I can't say enough about the first-class way I was welcomed into the Auburn family and the way this football program is run with a championship mindset and a focus on developing these young men into winners on and off the field."

Sure. Such an a-hole that he causes people to leave coaching altogether apparently.

That is what it looks like for sure.

Red flag with all the coaching transition going on at Auburn. Every time I check the sites there is another coach leaving the program

All I know is what Davis said. I'm sure you know much more than him.

Basketball is a club sport played to distract us from the fact that the real sports season just ended until next year.
I would say this too if my school sucked literal donkey dick at everything except football. College basketball is extremely profitable and popular nationally; coaches and programs make millions from it. Several SEC teams are pretty good at it and routinely fill arenas. Georgia fans should worry about how their university is going to fix that embarrassing arse program instead of belittling basketball.

Harsin making home run hires? Austin Davis probably learned more from Russell Wilson than Wilson did from him. Mike Bobo has never unpacked a suitcase in his coaching career, and Mason was a great DC at Stanford and thats about the only thing worth talking about in the last 10 yrs on his resume. Looks more like Harsin with a swinging bunt and somehow beat out to the throw to first base. JH voodoo did not go anywhere as Finely outplayed Young until the last minute of the game. That is voodoo.

Is it true that Davis is single with no kids?
