the point is...........quad 1 and 2 are no different in reality, if one team BEATS 7 teams barely in "QUAD 1" and another team beats 7 teams barely on QUAD 2 is the same damned .

Hell, if a Missouri Valley team knows how to schedule you can get a very strong number by playing them, it means nothing in the end, its manipulation of scheduling, North Car. and Texas are both better teams than Boise St or San Diego state, and UNC's NET was 36. We have to get off all this QUAD 1 and QUAD 2 thinking, its really just a joke tbh.

That is why the Big Ten used to get in all those teams and get crushed. So, did the Big 12. As a matter of fact the Big 12 proves this point, fir the last 2 or 3 years al I heard was how great the Big 12 was remember?

Well, Houston came in and won it 2 years in a row, while Arizona an d BYU finished 3rd and 4rth, and the two teams that came to the SEC both finished 6-12, so in reality it was all a mirage created by SCHEDULING, they were gaming the system. That's why QUAD games are not as important as people think, Ken Pom who I think is the best at what he does has UNC at 33. You can not just look at Quadrant wins, thats being naive.

They are the ones that created the metrics.

Anyone else see the West Virginia governor chime in on the UNC bid alleging corruption?

It turns out the UNC AD (and chair of the selection committee) netted himself a $70,000 bonus for UNC making the tournament.

And the committee admittedly held the Tucker Devries injury against WVU despite the fact that it happened in fricking DECEMBER. They've played 23 games since then and won 13 of them, including a few decent wins.

Yet, it appears as though no other known and current injuries with teams across the bracket influenced seeding decisions.

Hell, Iowa State was smart and sat on the season ending Gilbert injury until immediately following the bracket release.

I have unabashed fandom for UNC as I went there for 2 years before I transferred home to UGA. I root for the Heels in all sports against everyone but UGA.

All that to say I didn't think they were in even getting to Friday in the ACCT. I thought they needed to beat Duke to be assured a bid. Best case scenario was in the play-in games and that's what they got.

I honestly don't know which UNC team shows up in Dayton. I could see them beat SDSU and ride the momentum to an upset over Ole Miss on Thursday. I could also see them get beat by 25 and not be competitive.

That would explain it for WVU being left out, but Indiana basketball is like Nebraska football, might not be a very good program but big brand

I dont think anyone on the bubble has a right to complain if left out

NCAA is a bunch of jerks. UNC openly cheated got a wet noodle on the wrist. Their 2018 championship run was one poorly officiated game after another handing them the championship.

This year UNC’s AD was on the selection committee and supposedly sat out when UNC was discussed. Did he sit out when WVU was discussed? IU?

The bullshite the committee comes up with when they catch criticism is illogical. It’s like a Kamala Harris discussion on the space program.

Looks like good UNC has showed up so far as they are doubling up SDSU.

And they used them to compile quad levels 1 and 2 together. In the past they used to use that BS to keep SEC teams out, they have very few quad 1 wins, because of our scheduling or other SEC teams usually fell into quad 2, all because we scheduled teams like Alabama St. or Jackson St. which killed the ranking. Its just numbers, the truth is after you get to like 15, the 15-60 teas are all pretty much the same.

The SEC started scheduling up about what 5 or 6 years ago like the Mizzou Valley Conference did and all of the sudden our RPI rankings jumped. Bama with 8 losses in 2010 might have been a 7-9 seed, lol. Its just numbers.

They lost to Kansas by 3, Mich. St. by 3, Auburn by 7, Bama, Florida by 6, Stanford and Wake F. by 1, to Duke by 3 in the ACC Tourn. and won 8 out of the last 10 with both loses coming to Duke.

When a team schedules those teams OOC, you should reward them if its close at the end, I mean they could have scheduled 5 teams in the 50-60 range and finished 25-8 easily, why should we penalize scheduling that many top 10 teams?

I think they proved last night they should be in over Boise St or SDSU easily.

Did anyone catch the statement last night about one of the playin 11 seeds making it to the round of 32 multiple years in a row? North Carolina looks like that team this year.
