The punishment fit the crime in this case. If the other athletic departments didn't get the hammer dropped.. now that would be weird.

Is it official yet?

I don't think anything will be official until sometime tomorrow. Right now I'm guessing it's all just speculation....but i could be wrong

So who would get the win if they had played FSU when both teams would have to forfeit

It was an official article on BOL. They have been pretty rigid about posting rumors about this and felt their source in the Athletic Department was good enough to finally post the article.

IMO this is not Internet mumbojumbo and comes from a solid source inside the University. I seriously doubt they would have published the article untill they felt positive they knew the facts.

CCTiger isn't stupid, but he just has an extreme case of hate for Alabama; and who can fault him for that

Ian Rappaport is reporting that Alabama will not have to vacate Tennessee win in 2007. However, any games in which the suspended players played in from 2005-2007 will be vacated. Looks like as many as ten. No scholarship losses, as previously stated, and three years probation.

The additional three years probation bothers me. From a 'lack of institutional control' standpoint, was it really that big of a deal? It shouldn't have happened, but still...

The 3 years probation is a point of concern, Bama has had issues in the past 20 years keeping its rabid fans from helping the program out. If they can keep them inline then it isn't much to worry about.

I realize Au hates all things Bama but it isnt the fans creating the problems it is the boosters

It wasn't the fans or boosters this time. It was students who found a loophole in the system that has since been fixed.

Guy is nuts. He used to post on Auburn's rivals site. I read one post of his on this site, and automatically knew who he was just by the way he posted. He was that bad.
