quote:Very true ~ and as the season wore on the offense & special teams began to sputter which put even more pressure on the D. It looked like the overall team lost all motivation in the UGA game. The good thing is that Gus & Co was apparently able to regroup and get those guys focused on Bama. Mashall/Coates/Williams were hot as fire Saturday night. (IMO, Coates was showing out for the pro's.)
They had more traction day 1 then at the end of this season. That was the problem.

My fellow Auburn fans are going to learn this the hard way.
There are plenty who know this. However, luckily the drop off isn't going to be as severe as it was after Cam and I believe JJ will write his own story where we will be saying the same thing when he leaves.

Until an LSU fan kills multiple fellow LSU fans over a loss, Bama is and will continue to be the the epitome of melting.
But you see, those are outliers. That's not melting, that's clinical insanity. The entire LSU fan base has been melting for years, even the rational ones.

I would imagine he's posting in the context of this board.

I would actually be very optimistic about our offense next season if Coates and Duke came back. But if JJ is the QB and the receivers are Marcus Davis, Tony Stevens, and Ricardo Louis we are going to be pretty bad.

Most of those melts were about Ellis?

Instead they fire the weak link
was EJ really the weak link? I mean, bama was taking it to auburn early, and then EJs D came away with 3 turnovers to give Auburn the chance to blow the game open. Instead the offense failed to score tds, and then order restored itself and bama blew the doors off them like they should have in the first place. Without the pity score at the end its a 19 point game.

we are going to be pretty bad

We're not going to have a running game like 2013 probably ever again. They were absolutely dominant on the ground. That won't happen next year.

Auburn doesn't melt as hard, because they are so much more used to losing.

Who knows for sure? However, I saw a recruiting insider on the Georgia 247 board say last spring that he thought Jovon Robinson was the best player in the 2015 recruiting class period. This included both high school and junior college players

Here's some attention since the first guy that posted that didn't get any.

I'm pretty confident in that statement. While I believe Robinson is really good, JJ is no Marshall when it comes to running the ball.

Why melt, when you expected to lose?
Posted on 12/2/14 at 11:57 am to Smoke7024
Even if you believe we have less talent, we also have a much easier schedule next year. Alabama and Georgia at home. Play Kentucky from the east. The defense should also be better in my opinon as long as Lawson comes back healthy
You also have to look at what other teams are losing. Alabama will likely lose 8 or 9 starters on offense. Georgia could easily lose all 4 of their starting linebackers on defense

Kudos and most of you LSU fans could learn something from them.
No. And The fact that it bothers Alabama fans enough to make constant threads about is glorious.

I was talking about having low talent at WR next year would be exponentially worse than having low talent at WR in 2013. I never said we wouldn't be good.

It will be difficult to match but with Gus at the helm it is always possible.
No way can we replace a Duke or Coates in 2015, but JJ has a different throwing style that can make some decent receivers look good.
I am not suggesting next years team will dominate, but they could possibly do 7-9 wins, and if Coates and Duke stay we can compete for more. Hoping defense wise we can be serviceable.
