That doesn't exonerate the DA for his idiotic comment though. That really was a stupid thing to say.
I assume DAs are elected in Louisiana?

Just like they are in Cali. Remind me about the idiotic comment one of their public officials just made before you try and act like this just happens in LA.

five term DA that ran unopposed the last two times, and is appointed to serve six year terms = 30 year office holder in Ouachita Parish.
At this point in his career he can say WTF he wants. He's going nowhere and I'd say he won't have any issue running for re-election as long as he's alive if he's this lenient.
JMO.

But according to Hootie Jones and Cam Robinson's attorney, an illegal search had doomed the prosecution's case.
Just because their attorney said it, that doesn't make it so.
Also, police officer sees a vehicle parked in a public park late at night, approaches the vehicle, sees a gun and smells weed... that's called probable cause.
Illegal search is a horse shite claim to make it look like they aren't getting preferential treatment.
There's no reason to try to gloss over this, guys. Bama gamed the system. They won (again). Why do you have to make yourselves feel good about it?

can you prove that? Obviously the DA didn't feel like he could.

Man, you are really defensive. I was merely asking, because the obvious interpretation of his reasons for saying that doesn't work if they're not elected. I didn't know if that was the case. They're elected here in North Carolina too. The saga of the Duke lacrosse rape prosecutor after the charges were dismissed is, and should be, a cautionary tale to DAs everywhere.

Somebody fark a Bama shirt on this guy ASAP.

The so-called House of Representatives Problem. Too many elected officials representing a small enough area that they can just go to sleep at the wheel because the majority of their district just votes for the person they know.

Last I heard, and this was a couple years ago, he was desperately trying to protect his assets from the civil suit while hiding in the mountains. The judge, iirc, wasn't particularly sympathetic to him. So I doubt he's had a chance to petition for his disbarring to be reversed.

It is so disheartening that Bama players seem to basically get a free pass for their crimes

Seems like a rough gig, hanging with Kevin Hart and all.

The L5U fan boy cop got such a hard on knowing he had Cam busted that he fricked up the legality of the search.
Thanks L5U fans for giving us a helping hand in keeping our boys eligible.

Any LSU fan upset by this must be forgetting the fact that Jeremy Hill was on probation when he was caught on video blindsiding another man who was walking away from the altercation.
The judge did nothing but give him a stern warning.
