You are.
If you think those data show "the middle of nowhere," I'm not sure what to say.
B/CS is an hour from the 4th largest city in the US--it's basically a Houston suburb.
It's an hour and a half from Austin.
Triangulate that with Dallas and San Antonio, and it's about as centrally-located a locale as they come.
if you want me to list some remote Texas cities, I'll do so; but B/CS isn't among them.

Bryan/CS is 60-90 miles from interesting places.
It, itself is crappy version of Starkville.

The food places are mediocre at best and the traffic sucks. I've been to a few football and baseball games there.

Hell, weren't ya'll booing your team just last week, so much so that you had your own players flipping off your fans as they ran into the tunnel at halftime?

I'm not looking to debate CS, nor attempting to change any minds--to each his own for sure.
To me and to many others it's heaven; pardon me if I couldn't care less what a few rival fans who've never stepped foot there have to say.
I was simply pointing out to the MSU chap who stated B/CS is in the middle of nowhere that he was/is highly mistaken.

All week and all season we have seen on this board how bad Mullen is against the SEC
"Overrated"
"Makes his living out of conference"
"Only 5 wins vs top 15" and so on and so on
Now all you bandwagon bitches think he is Saban and you want him as your coach after he just pounded a soft, slow, weakass southwest Louisiana Lafayette at Shreveport team. With the young team he has now and the bears about to get hibernated by the NCAA Mullen will own MS and make a serious run at Bama and will have no pressure from anyone in Starkville. Why the frick would he leave ?
The only move he makes is ND.

Which is reason #1 why he will jump when a top program finally looks past his oddities and offers him a job.

Which top program are you referring to?

This is utter bullshite! I live in Austin and it takes an hour and half to just get out of town.

He would not be interested in aTm period. Not that you guys are any worse or better than anyone else.

Yes... he has expressed interest in other jobs like Georgia, but he has two QBs to mentor right now and a third coming from Texas next year.

It would honestly take a Notre Dame or Penn State position to get him back north for him to leave.

There are probably others but I would bet only a couple in the SEC and aTm ain't one.

Again... you guys need to get a fresh face and there are several out there.

We brought in Mullen and folks were laughing. No connections to MSU and no head coaching experience. He earned his way to $5 mill and is not going to drop and run just because you have oil pumps of cash. He would want something different.

Didn't Mullen turn down UF when Meyer left?

Exactly. Merlins is an incredible game planner, but there might be issues if you are going to give him the keys to a Ferrari. He might be one of these guys that excels in a low pressure environment. See Rodriguez, Rich. See Kelly, Brian.

Takes me an hour and a half to drive from College Station to Austin.
I do it regularly.
Not sure what to tell you.

Because MSU is not near a top tier destination for a head coach.

Of this fact every State fan is aware, the funny bit is the delusional Aggie fan base think A&M is.

I hate to break this to you young man, Aggie is just another mid tier athletic program for the SEC, yall wanted to come to the big boy conference and that is the way it is here.

You fall behind AL, AU, GA, Fl, LSU, and even TN, Ahead of Vndy and right in the middle of the pack of everyone else, or in other words not shite in the grand scheme of things, just like the MSU's of the world.

Not sure there is a more self deluded fanbase in the country.

I mean, does LSU not get included just because they are the obvious most delusional fan base?

Seriously though, TAMU gives LSU a run for their money

By what possible metric?

By the way College Station is a blight on humanity, and your entire campus has the look of a Soviet prison camp, WTF are all the drab brown non descript buildings about?

Why would Mullen leave MSU? In the modern era schools like MSU can match any offer. And at MSU he doesn't have to worry about getting fired for going 9-3 and losing to Saban.

Damn, those pics look like they were taken in Syria. This is the Shangri-La that delusional A&M fans think that quality coaches are beating their doors down to have the "privilege" of coaches at???
