You are correct, I've blocked out the Heath/Pelphrey decade from memory, or I'm trying too anyway.
There seems to be a difference when you win in that scenario, UGA 2008 and Arkansas in 2000 had a different attitude directed towards them than the teams that lost "allowing" them in.

That goes for the whole board.
I think Arkansas may be in just for the fact that they are going to take 4 teams from the SEC. If someone other than Florida wins the tournament than maybe not, but I would think the Hawgs are still in.

If they take 4 from our league, we are in unless Mizzou beats UF today

If we make it in, Great!
If we are "only" a #1 seed in the NIT, Great!
This program hasn't seen any post season play since Heath's last squad exhausted their eligibility, improvement is all I'm wanting and seeing, this team should be better next year as well.

ACC perception brah
The perception of the leagues, Big12, ACC, A10, is driving the bubble talk in the media.
It won't necessarily have the same effect on the committee, meaning I do not believe OkST, etc. to be "locks" like many are portraying them to be.
As far as the brackets, the NIT is going to be far more interesting for the SEC, only 22 spots remain open, roughly 16 bubble spots for the NCAAs will go to the NIT, that means it will be interesting to see how UGA, Ole Miss, and LSU fair against teams from the other conferences.
As of right now, Florida, Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Mizzou are the only teams I would consider to be "locks" for a tourney. UGA should be, but they are going to get hammered for their non-con record, while teams like BYU will get a pass for losing to equal/worse competition in conference.

Pitt making it in would be some serious bullshite.
But so would BYU and they seem like a lock now.

Pitt's OOC schedule strength was 250+ (IIRC).

I agree but that narrative doesn't get viewers

Southern Miss is now 27-5 just saying they should be mentioned.

CUSA is looking to be a one bid league this year.
LaTech is the favorite.
I believe either would have to win their tourney to get in with the other being NIT bound.
