Talking about yourself here. Players were always paid under the table and it was always stupid that players couldn't profit off their names. Now piss off and stop bitching because you've been by far the worst about this whole thing

The Supremes ruling on Amateur College athletes NIL is exactly like allowing Judges to receive NIL from any person, corporation, country, or entity to follow their agenda exclusively.
Except judges having no outside allegiances is actually important.
College sports are getting turned upside down because the previous system was fricked. It’s going to be messy for awhile but will eventually settle out in a hopefully more sustainable and ethical form.

I find it very interesting that Bama fans are melting the absolute hardest over this.
You laugh and joke about “the process” when players are practically pushed out of the program because they didn’t live up to to the hype, someone better comes along, or nagging injuries hamper them. “That’s just the way it is.”
But now with recruiting going to be harder down the road because teams close to large metropolitan areas will be lured by more likeness incentives… well… now “that’s ruining college football”.
Truth is you are scared stiff of Texas, Michigan, USC, UCLA, etc. of gaining an upper hand in recruiting because of their proximity to more money and more people. Well.. that’s just too bad. Come sit next to the other people who are sick of the current skipping record of the Playoff and how it’s already been pointed out college football is ruined.
Anything that keeps the local redneck who wrenches on lawnmowers from bragging about football in his new bama tshirt he got for his birthday to the rest of us with degrees is an absolute threat. We get it.

You do realize that the non revenue college sports have had NIL since the beginning? For years now you could not go to Instagram and other platforms and avoid the cleavage of any number of golf and tennis girls. This is giving the revenue players the same right enjoyed by every other college student. We'll see how this shakes out and adapt. But don't see the sky falling just yet.

It's your poll so believe what you like.
Personally, it is what it is. The distractions will be real and only the head coaches with the better management skills will navigate this course.
Sounds like the perfect job for one Nick Saban. Don't you think?

Supreme court also ruled corporations have the same rights as people, and as such can donate as much money as they want to politicians. I feel that might have a bigger negative consequence on society, but I digress.

Is it that much of a shock when a large portion of them base their entire personality around and/or validate their self-worth through Bama footbawl/Bear Bryant? It’s the one thing that can make a poorly educated, trailer-trash baw from the sticks who hates his life feel superior over others/strangers on the internet.

NIL is the single greatest thing to happen to college sports since the creation of athletic scholarships.

We haven't gotten around to stealing from hospitals yet to fund our football team.

I believe it was when an LSU booster pleaded guilty to felony wire fraud and money laundering charges in June and has been sentenced to 33 months in federal prison. He reportedly embezzled more than $500,000 from a hospital foundation and gave some of the stolen money to the parents of two former LSU football players.
Yeah, probably then.

If it brings in money for them, why not? Try to look further than 2 years down the road.

Yeah, the parent of former LSU player Vadal Alexander (who had been drafted 4 years before) for a no-show job. This totally means LSU football is bought for and paid for by OLOL.
You’re the same retard who didn’t even have the brain capacity to coherently argue his point or stay on topic by rambling off nonsensical paragraphs about LSU’s shitty 5-5 team, and you’re also the same guy who was in multiple arguments in a “BAMAS GOT 28” thread. You’re the prime example of backwoods trash I was talking about.

MUst be so. Otherwise, why would the University of LSU self-impose penalties for said crime?
The reduction of eight football scholarships over a two-year period as well as reducing recruiting visits, evaluations, and communication after an investigation revealed booster payments to a football player's father, Sports Illustrated reports.
Basically, a booster stole almost $200,000 from a Baton Rouge hospital to pay the father of former LSU All-American lineman Vadal Alexander.
Tick, tick, tick, tick.

Having a shitass football team during a pandemic year and a cloud of bad press sounds like a great time to self-impose penalties on your program, which is pretty common for programs to do. You’ve got any other names you wanna throw out there besides the dad of a former player? What you’re claiming and what you’re saying really aren’t matching up.

This isn't over by a long shot. Big Brother is still waiting to have his say. Tick, tick, tick,

You're just mad that not every other 5* recruit is going to be attending Alabama anymore. That's all you people care about.
You Bammers are so transparent, it's hilarious.

It will be interesting to see what would happen if Big Brother would not intentionally ignore everything that Bama does. You know the program that had a former player recount on national television how he was paid to play.

Don't you guys have intimate contact with the great high priest of the NCAA? Plead for mercy and offer his offspring lifetime luxury box suites. Otherwise, it's about to be one of those, "Whom the Bell Tolls" moments in college football.
