UAB Loss

ULM Loss

Colorado State Loss

quote:

The 18-year-old quarterback from Marshall, Mich., listened as coach Nick Saban told him to get loose. Then he picked his jaw off the turf and trotted onto the field as the Spartan Stadium crowd erupted. "It was kind of cool when I ran out there and the fans started cheering," Van Dyke said. The rest wasn't so cool. Van Dyke couldn't save the Spartans from a stunning 23-16 loss to the Rams. The loss was doubly sobering for the 68,624 fans. For starters, it came on the first day of a new alcohol ban for tailgate parties at nearby Munn Field. And it provided a horrifying three-hour recap of State's 1997 season. State won its first five games a year ago, then dropped five of its last seven. On Saturday, State romped to a 16-0 lead midway through the second quarter, then watched in shock as the Rams rallied for the upset

Nick Saban also has losses to Auburn too. Pretty much the same scale of losses when you talk about fluke losses.

The Auburin loss is the one that pisses me off the most.

So unnecessary.

Bear and Bobby Bowden both lost to Southern Miss. Shitty losses happen.

I'd take losses to all 3 in the same season if it meant the program would do on a dynasty run for a decade plus.

Awe darn. Coaches such as Saban never will see the playoffs, much less, championships...

You coach long enough shite happens. Any coach who's coached for decades is going to have a handful of bad losses. There's a lot more that goes into winning and losing a football game than who the head coach is.

Bobby Bowden has losses to

Memphis
Southern Miss
Tulane

Shug Jordan has losses to

Tulane x2
SMU
Houston
Memphis

Tom Osborne has losses to

Iowa State x3

Bear Bryant has losses to

SMU x2
Villanova
Southern Miss
