I'm surprised there hasn't been more rumors about Kirby to the NFL but I doubt he goes. Why take that career risk now when you have something great going at UGA? May as well ride it out at least another 5 years.

That link led me to this multiple-nfl-teams-are-interested-in-nick-saban-as-well-as-several-of-his-former-assistants

quote:

Conversations with over a half dozen NFL general managers, including several currently conducting head-coaching searches, revealed a strong sense that at least one college coach will end up landing an NFL job in the coming weeks. The biggest detriment thus far has actually been the unwillingness of many of them to leave their current situations.

Is Sexton the agent for Smart? If so, time to bring out the brinks truck.

LPGA is too obsessed with beating Saban and Alabama to go to the NFL. He’s like Captain Ahab; it will be his doom.

Saban sucks in the NFL, his schtick only works with college kids.

He is a joke among professionals. Much like Petrino was with the Falcons.

I’m sure he cries himself to sleep at night over what a few sub-.500 NFL coaches think about him.

Who the hell cares?

Well I hope so, since that is who he has been coaching college kids better than pretty any other college FB coach in history.

People taking shots at Saban for his NFL stint should be ashamed of themselves. So sad. Saban's only mistake was going to the dolphins without a qb and needing an entire rebuild under terrible ownership. Put him at the Packers of Browns this year and they would be scary.

After that spectacular Jawja performance in Nawlins, who can blame the NFL?

Saban with Brees might have been scary.

Nick Saban's NFL experience is the ultimate contrast between pro football and college football.

if he has superior talent, he will win. If the teams are comparable, he will lose most of the time (4 and 7). That is not a recipe for success in the nfl.

Nick was 9-7 and 6-10 in his two years. The Giant's won the SB with a 9-7 season. Of course they actually had a QB unlike the Fins. A UGA fan bashing a guy that actually coached in the NFL....that is large.
