Next Year, if all goes well, the SEC could send 2 or hopefully 3 teams into the playoffs. If the playoffs happened this year, 2 SEC teams would have made it. It Alabama, Auburn, and Mizzou play very well and everyone else sucks, it could be SEC/SEC championship game.
Thoughts?

We could have sent four. South Carolina should also be included in that package.

This year the SEC would have sent two if the committee does shite right, but we all know they'll favor conference champs for playing in weaker conferences.

The beauty of the selection committee is that they can make a conscious effort to not let that happen

lol if you think one conference will ever get 3 teams in.

A two-loss team that shite their leg against Tennessee.
Request denied...

sadly yes they will probably pick the SEC champion, the ACC champion, the Big 10 champion, and the PAC-12 champion for the playoff system but there is a possibility they could send two or hopefully 3

2 will happen, but will be interesting if the committee decides to set up a rematch in the semifinal or allow it to happen in a possible championship game.

they would put semifinal. they do not want a conference championship. not good ratings for everyone else around the country

I hope the SEC does get multiple invites to the 4-team playoff. That'll force the SEC haters to expand the playoffs to 8, maybe more, teams like it should be.

my problem is that it would destroy traditional bowl games

Every other football league/division on earth has a playoff that determines a true champion. Bowl games have prevented this in CFB's most elite league for all of history. It's time for a tournament.

I would much rather have this happen then a team in Alabama's position this year being passed over by teams that won their crappy conferences.
If I hear 1 more time how MSU or Baylor are more deserving because they won their conferences……

It doesn't have to.
They can just call a quarterfinal "The Beef-A-Roni Bowl" or whatever. More people would show up, for sure.
It would steal some thunder from the directional school bowls, but how many people actually watch them?

Are they better than Bama? Probably not.. Are they more deserving? Absolutely.. Should've won your conference.

I don't think the committee would allow it. It is going to be all about what is "fair." They will find a way to put a Baylor or UCF in there.

Baylor didn't play in a championship game.
