It's been since Arnsparger that LSU had quality coaching focused around developing LB's. Archer, Hallman, Saban were all DB oriented coaches and Dinardo was an OL coach just like Sling Blade. Pellini was overated and Muschamp isn't a LB oriented guy.

Improvement?

Looks like it

So what? LSU's 2007 defense had more studs on it than my house has in it, yet they gave up like 40 points a game. Who was the DC again?

Are you retarded? Look at what he has done to the Nebraska D. They were garbage under Callahan, now near the best in the nation.

Yeah Pelini knows what he's doing. He puts great DL's on the field.

You'll never hear a peep about his LBs though.

Do you know the difference between past tense and present tense? I think Pellini is doing a good job at Nebraska. Do you think he did a good job coaching LSU LB's?

the same DC who took a non factor Nebraska team and made them relevant this year. They did a lot better job of controlling Texas than Alabama did this year

The games LSU gave up a lot of points in 2007 were the triple OTs against KY and Arky.

True. But when the RB rarely makes it past the Dline, one has no need to hear about LBers.

No crawfishing

You made no qualifications before (that you just meant he didn't focus on LBs)

I'll go with Nico Johnson, since Dont'a Hightower is coming off knee surgery.

I think he has the potential to be great and did a fantastic job as a freshman after DH was injured but I want to see how he does without an allworld leader on the field like Rolando McClain or is it Orlando McCain.

He'll have Dont'a lining up next to him. Pretty good to have him, just after McClain leaves. Both are very smart LBs.

I remember reading that Hightower was already going through individual drills during the NC week. And he was reported to be back to working with 300lbs on the squat again at that time.

Sounds like his rehab is going pretty nicely. Hopefully it pans out for us. He was on track to be even greater than McClain.

They run the ball in the Big 12?

Chris Jordan will emerge for Bama.

Jordan was McCLain's backup while Nico was Hightower's backup, which led to Nico getting the PT last year.

Also, watch out for Jerrell Harris. He should lock up the SAM linebacker spot, and hopefully will live up to his hype.
