my ex is from Opelika/Au. Had to make the 280 drive every other weekend for 10 yrs. The only thing that compares to the horror of that is I-65 from Montgomery to Mobile.

I've lived in bham, alex city, and auburn... while 280 isn't exactly pleasant, it beats the pants off traveling through west AL... at least in my experience anyway.
