Yall need to, most teams in the SEC have live mascots. Alabama needs to get with the program and get themselves another elephant.

Damn man, I bet you could have just donated it to a zoo or something instead.

Haven't checked the Lake Travis levels of late but they gotta be rising cuz it's been raining like a sumbitch down here this week. Big arse sever t-storms and a few small tornado touchdowns around central Texas. May here is usually kinda like that either with storms from the west or hurricane activity blowing up from the coast...but come late May and onward we will all be frying in hell.

I meant the idea. There was a social media campaign to get a live Tiger but then people objected to that idea and the school backed those that objected.

the total capacity will be up to 81-83k and should be 6th biggest in the SEC.
No it wouldn't. It would be 8th-10th depending on what we bump our stadium capacity to after our renovations and if the Brice expands again like suggested. But even without us moving up it would be 8th currently.
The 81-83k is the number of real seats (well technically on bleachers). The Mizzou stadium will be able to hold more with GA tickets on the new hill.

I hope they keep coming, I want to make it up to Travis a couple times this summer. Supposed to be a ton of rain this week.

Hopefully Lake Travis is far higher now than it was last August. It was so low that stolen vehicles that had been driven into the lake in the past were rediscovered due to the extreme drop in water level.
Beautiful area. Beautiful lake. Reminds me of San Diego. Looks almost exactly the same. Needs water though.
I bet Austin is still technically in severe drought conditions regardless of the rain...

Canyon Lake is finally filling back up. Mean conservation level is 909. It got down to ~898 and is up to 902. This is being helped along by 500CFS coming into the lake and only 100 going out the dam. Get the lake full and then they can open the gates more for the tubers this summer.
I care more about the aquifer being full though. These rains have helped. I'll never understand why they chose to go off of Stage 1. We needed to get past this year and get everything full again and slow down the pumping some.
When Canyon overflowed in 2002 and used the spillway that wasn't really meant to be used, it created the gorge. That flood was helped along by the Corps of Engineers not opening the spillway gates soon enough, knowing that the water was coming from Kerrville down.

I lived in San Diego for 2 years from '99 - '01. I'm not comparing Austin to coastal downtown San Diego.
However, if you venture 10 - 15 miles inland from the coast, the desert hills and vistas of San Diego (Escondido, San Marcos, Caramel Mountain, etc.) are very similar to the hills surrounding Austin, TX.

Easy there, pal! I've just never been a fan. I know it's been part of the stadium since it was built in the 20s, but it makes our stadium look outdated today.
However, after checking out the proposed renderings of the stadium expansion, it may be able to stay.

95 to 100 deg. with 85% humidity is the same whether your in Alabama or Iowa. It's hot! Now I can see the south having a longer run of this heat than the midwest, but hot is hot.
