Why does Tennessee care where the SEC title game will be held?

You do realize that the state of Tennessee is mostly funded by Sales Tax and Amusement/Entertainment Taxes...right? Tennessee has the highest Sales Tax rate in the Southeast. Sales Tax contributes 19.55% of Tennessee's total revenue.

Adding the SEC Championship game would be a pretty big boost to the Tennessee economy.

so one of the NFL‘s major Super Bowl cities is not good enough to host the SECCG. Lol you are such a fricking idiot.

I'm not sticking up for serraneux, because he is an idiot as you said, but NO being "good enough" to host has zero to do with the topic.

OK New Orleans host, the sugar bowl and Super Bowls and has the infrastructure to support hosting the SECCG.

Yes it sure does. But it's still not ever going to host it.

It will be in Nashville some years. Nashville is a 100x better city than Atlanta. If Nashville can get the Super Bowl which they will now they can host the SECC. Nobody wants to deal with the hood of Atlanta.

I’m sure 15 years ago everyone thought basketball would stay in Atlanta but now it’s in Nashville for the foreseeable future.

Nashville > Atlanta and it’s not even close

I swear some of y'all exercise zero common sense. It has nothign to do with teh capabiltiy of hosting a football game, there's probably hundred of cities in america that have the ability to host the SECCG. It's not going to happen though because the SEC would then lose Atlanta permanently, and the league isn't gonna do that.

So, Atlanta is going to disappear from the map if the SEC title game isn't played there? How exactly does one "lose Atlanta?"

Moron- if the SEC moves somewhere else, the ACC will then play their title game there. And they won't say "oh can we please play here this one time until the SEC decides to rotate back?" They will pay whatever is necessary to make it their permanent home so they don't have to keep rotating around the shitfests they currently have to. This is common sense for most people.

Every week we get one of these idiotic threads of people who likely have never been to Atlanta talking about how awful Atlanta is. Atlanta is one of the largest cities in the southeast with the largest airport in the country, vastly more hotels than Nashville, and more popular destination. There’s a reason why the SECCG is here, why are you host playoff and nattys, and why the college football hall of fame is here

What?

The SECT always rotated venues... So no, no one thought it was staying in ATL as it never had. Do you not remember last year it was in Tampa? After this contract it will probably rotate again especially with the OU/TX addition maybe back to Memphis or ST Louis.

Exactly. There's loads of other cities in the SEC footprint now. Since the SEC footprint moved west and extended invitations to Texas, Oklahoma, and A&M to join, I think you have to consider moving the game to other venues west of Atlanta. Are we worried if the game is in Houston or Dallas that the SEC will be weakened by the remnants of the Big 12 playing a title game there if the SEC didn't?

I wouldn’t be surprised if the SECCG is dropped when the playoff expands. I don’t think you can ask a college team to play 17 games in a season.

Would love to host at NRG, but JerraWorld is the next likely home.
