The NCAA should just go ahead and allow Mathew Sluka to sign to Mizzou, just to piss off Odom for old times sake.

It was Texas fans. A&M did the same thing when they bought their way into the conference. Didn’t take them long to realize that they were mistaken.

Why is Georgia ranked ahead of Ohio State ?

OSU only loss was by 1 point on the road to #1 Oregon.
UGA lost to a team with 2 losses.

Yesterday OSU beat the #3 team on the road, meanwhile UGA struggled to beat a 3 loss team playing a walk on qb.

OSU has played 2 top 25 teams. They're 1-1 with a loss to #1 and a win over #6. UGA has played three top 25 teams and is 2-1. They have a loss to #11 and wins over #5 and #19.

It won't change if both teams keep winning. OSU has 1 top 25 game remaining on their regular season schedule. #8 Indiana. UGA has two (#7 Tennessee and #16 Ole Miss.

TLDR - UGA is ranked ahead because they have the same record against a tougher schedule.

Who has Penn State actually beat to earn that ranking?

here's a list of the ranked wins for each team in the AP poll:

1 - Oregon - #3 Ohio State., #12 Boise State
2 - UGA - #5 Texas, #19 Clemson
3 - Ohio State - #6 Penn State
4 - Miami - #25 Louisville
5 - Texas - #24 Vandy
6 - PSU - None
7 - Tennessee - #11 Alabama
8 - Indiana - None
9 - BYU - #13 SMU, #22 KSU
10 - Notre Dame - #15 Texas A&M
11 - Alabama - #2 UGA
12 - Boise State - #20 WSU
13 - SMU - #23 Pitt, #25 Louisville
14 - LSU - #16 Ole Miss
15 - A&M - #14 LSU
16 - Ole Miss - None
17 - Iowa State - None
18 - Army - None
19 - Clemson - None
20 - WSU - None
21 - Colorado - None
22 - KSU - #21 Colorado
23 - Pitt - None
24 - Vandy - #11 Alabama
25 - Louisville - #19 Clemson

Quite a few teams in the top 25 who haven't beaten anyone of note. But PSU and Indiana are the only ones ranked in the top 15... so I'd say they are overrated at this point.

I don’t think Penn State finishes top 5 in the SEC. Maybe not even top 10. Every year they are proven to be frauds and yet they still get ranked

I like how LSU is ranked ahead of A&M even though they beat us. Haha.

I agree with your ending conclusion but I do think the AP poll is a bad metric for strength of schedule. South Carolina is really good team is probably a top 15 team if we were to power rate them

South Carolina (like many teams) is inconsistent. They played LSU and Bama tough in losses, beat A&M and got crushed by Ole Miss at home. They barely beat Old Dominion as well.

SC on a good day is a top 15 team. On a bad day they're around 60th. On average they're in the 20-30 range... and the AP poll has them sitting at 27th.

SC's last 4 games are Vandy, Mizzou, Wofford and Clemson. If you're honest, you wouldn't be too shocked if they went 4-0... but you also wouldn't be too shocked if they went 1-3. They'll probably go 2-2, finish 7-5 and be outside of the top 25... and rightfully so.

Not really inconsistent. I actually think we are probably around #25. The LSU loss was bulls as we all know. Laid an egg against Ole Miss and should of beaten Bama. We have 2 bad games all year. ODU was the first game of the season, won it which is a that matters but after that only one poor performance and Beamer kind of screwed us in that one.
