You could say that by buying East Texas State University and a few other smaller schools, then renaming them as part of the system that they've invested in the regional campuses, but the satellite campuses have never been that big, except maybe Galveston and the A&M College of Dentistry.

t.u did the same thing with Texas Western (UTEP), Texas A&M-Arlington (UT-Arlington) and the Texas Instruments Southwest Center for Advanced Studies (UT-Dallas).
