100-200 probably not much of a difference

I always knew the Huskers were a cultural fit for the SEC!

Probably not. My graduate school is about 100 rankings higher than my undergrad, and while it is certainly better, It's not so much better than you'd think.

Is it just me or does it seem like LSU is really skyrocketing up the rankings? Didn't they usually scrape the bottom along with MSU in the past?

The Top 4 continue to always be the Top 4... usually in this exact order.

It seems over the course of the last 5-10 years, Auburn has moved up to a consensus #5 in the league, yet still always way closer to #6 in the rankings than they are to #4.

Schools #6 through #10 or #11 are always packed in tight and the order seems to change every year.

Need to have the change from previous rankings for context.

Wait, what? Wasn't some Mizzou fan in here a couple of weeks ago pumping up their AAU accreditation or something?

Actually what I find the most amazing is that LSU can't finish up around UGA, UF, A&M considering they are the only major state school in Louisiana.... somehow the state of Alabama has two schools yet both always rank far ahead of LSU.

LSU and even Kentucky and Arkansas should be higher. For Alabama to have two major state schools yet usually be higher than all those others is both a complement to the state of Alabama and a glaring failure for those other states.

I feel like Bama has skyrocketed more than anyone else in the last 10 or so years.

Yep, just a few years ago the goal was top 10 and in short order we may hit top 5 status. Pretty remarkable.

The opposite is true. They were in the low 70s when A&M first joined the SEC.

It used to be. It has sank in these rankings the last several years.

I don't know what methodology U.S. News uses, but sometimes these lists incorporate non-academic factors like student diversity, tuition value, campus safety, and other subjective metrics that can change.
