Did anyone really want to see aggie get pummeled again?
And the fact that osu got pummeled by the same score as aggie kind of puts them on par with one another.
There wasn't really a contender to put in that spot.

Not going to address ever, but in terms of Saban titles 2012 Notre Dame was by far the easiest.
tOSU had a smattering of offensive success and kept the game close early. Notre Dame was beaten after the first series.

Yep, 2020 should have an * due to the fact that all schools reported cases and sat players out except one team, and that one team’s coach tested positive and took the spotlight off of the players. The whole 2020 season was a shite show.

Dude, that was only 5 sentences, but if you didn't read all that, how do you know I'm wrong? I stated that claiming the title in '41 is BS. Name a school who doesn't claim a poll title. Which one of the pre-poll titles that Bama claims is outrageous?

I'm not sure where you got the impression the job of the playoff committee was anything other than putting the 4 best teams in the playoffs.
Alabama is in, unless some SEC team knocks them out. LSU did in 2019. Georgia didn't in 2017, so Bama was in.
The past couple years with Lawrence and Fields at QB, both Clemson and Ohio State were in the playoffs before Opening Day, and they had to screw up not to make it.
A&M and Notre Dame both had good years, possibly better overall resumes. A&M didn't beat Bama, so they were out. Notre Dame got a split with Clemson, they made it in.
Hell, you could make a case for Coastal Carolina, BYU, etc... but they were never going to get in unless someone actively bombed.
Ohio State played just over half the games against not-impressive B1G teams, and they got their reserved spot, despite not meeting all the technical rules.

Good thing the playoff is going to 8 soon. I’m sure it will make for some really close games.
