They were a top4 team and the less amount of games gave them a large advantage.
It can be an advantage or it could be as much of a disadvantage...... They probably wouldn't have won but they had their RB (Trey Sermon) and 2 DL starters out and it would have been closer.

Yeah me neither.

I'm not sure where you got the impression the job of the playoff committee was anything other than putting the 4 best teams in the playoffs.
Only "after" they examine the work. In Ohio State's case, that happened after half a schedule and struggles against Indiana and Northwestern to boot. It was a hell of a reach that exposed prejudice toward brand names.

And Bama lost Devonta Smith on the 1st drive of the 2nd half, didnt have their All-American Center or Freshman All-American safety, and Jaylen Waddle was nowhere near 100%
Not sure why people are having such a hard time admitting that Bama was an all-time great team last year

Bama might have been an all-time great team, but we will never know due to Covid.

Has that scoreboard stopped smoking yet in death valley?

Yep, you play with what you have. It was a thorough arse-kicking.

LOL at MSU football....

The president of Ohio State University asked athletic director Gene Smith if the Buckeyes could "go independent" in a text message sent the day after the Big Ten announced in August it would not play a fall football season.
The text from Ohio State President Kristina Johnson to Smith, dated Aug. 12 at 8:04 a.m., was among more than 2,500 pages of documents the school released Wednesday night in response to public records requests by media organizations.

Yes, Bama really shut down Joe Burrow, Jamar Chase, Justin Jefferson and company in the 2020* game.

Not the 2020 game, but definitely the 2018 game. 29-0 in Tiger Stadium. You got us in 2019 but flukes happen every once in a while.

Not as completely hopeless a group as the 2020 LSU defense, but the worst of the Nick Saban era nonetheless.
Remind me again, how many points was the great Joey able to score on Alabama in Baton Rouge? Hint: Clear your mind until you're thinking of absolutely nothing. And there you have it.

Hell Bo Nix scored more points on the King than Joe did.

95 Nebraska
20 Alabama
19 LSU
Cry about it all you want, but that's the reality.

Imagine if Devonta Smith didn't get injured. Would have been even worse....man was eating them alive.

It would have been a travesty had Ohio State won it all playing that low number of games.

No rules were changed in either case; Bama got in both years based on the rules in place for two different selection systems (BCS & CFP)...
As stated before, this wasn't the first time a team got into the CFP without winning their division, Ohio State did it the year before Bama...
Same with the BCS, Bama wasn't the first non-division winner selected there either, 2001 Nebraska was...
Neither '16 OSU nor '01 Nebraska catch any flak because both lost badly...Bama catches shite those years because they took advantage of the opportunity and won both times...

At least you acknowledge the * for the season, just like your 2020 Natty will always have a * by it.

Nebraska set the precedent when they played for the national title in 2001 without winning their division. Alabama was merely the first (and only) team to do it and win it all.
