This was about not getting the job done not about Auburn.

why can't it be about both. As a Bama fan beating Auburn is important...but so is blowing a huge lead. Why can't the coaching staff combine the two in order to produce positive results relative to the goals of the process and having a sustained level of intensity for an entire game?

Les Miles, as much as I like him, is the luckiest son of a bitch to every walk the sidelines. And NOBODY can dispute that. Yes, he has balls the size of my neighbors suburban to make some of these calls, but he has to have sold his soul to some unnatural force to have the luck he has. A ball bounces perfectly in the ONLY direction it could have bounced and succeded, the opposing team puts half their team on the field and they get a do-over, clock management screws the pooch but stil somehow manages to pull plays out of their arse. The list goes on.

As I said, I like the man, as much as I have TRIED to hate him, but his luck FAR outweighs his skill as a coach.

With that said, I still believe in the old saying, I'd rather be lucky then good. But that doesnt change the fact that Saban is a better coach, les just gets the bounces when he needs them.

If it was a fact, there would be evidence. There isn't.

Just remember that they all need to say that to justify all the money they pay him. It just has to be true, it really does damn it.

THIS I will agree with 100%. I hunger for Les Miles' interviews in the off season. He may possibly be an inteligent guy, he just has absolutely no idea how to put that inteligence into coherent strings of the spoken word. His answer to the question about how the oil spill affected the state of La was possibly the funniest thing I have ever heard.

I could care less how much money we pay Saban, its not enough. He is the best coach in the country right now IMO. Bad years happen to everyone, and that man is worth every single penny he is getting paid.

Nick Saban: The Six-Million Dollar Man
By Tommy Deas, Tidesports.com
Nick Saban is officially college football’s first — and only — $6 million man. The University of Alabama’s head football coach will accrue compensation of $6,087,349 for 2010, making him not only the highest-paid coach in college football but one of the highest-paid coaches in the entire sport. Mack Brown of Texas, who earned more than $5.1 million for the year, ranks second in income among college football coaches, according to data compiled by USA Today, but Saban’s big-money year puts him in a different stratosphere.

this was to be shared, to be fair Bama starting guard was hurt and Steen who had never started was his back up that is a tall order. I was more upset that apparently our second string safety is so bad they thought leaving someone in who couldnt use his arm because of a torn pectoral would be better.

as a fan there is hate these players dont hate each other; they want to win and Auburn is just another team to these players standing in the way them acheiving a goal. Think about the type of man Saban is would he be about beating Auburn or about hey we had that game won and you quit. That is LAWAYS his thing finishing he says it every week. These player know what it means to the fans to win this game and thye will always say the right thing.Remember a lot of these guys didnt live in Alabama and didnt grow up with that hate; obviously the players that grew up in state understand but do you think Corey Grant hates Auburn or that calloway will hate Bama.

Saban's base salary is just over 4 million. The amount he brought home in 2010 is based off of bonuses from the 2009 season.

Well again his base salary is higher than Brown's way higher. Nick's 4 mil base per yr and Mack is 2.9 mil per yr base.

read the article it says he is No.1 in college football and in a different stratosphere. Don't know why you two arguing the point really.

considering how much the team makes and none of the money is for education it really doesnt matter how much he is paid. If he somehow wins another NC his pay will go up even more. Alabam can afford it.

I could've sworn they gave him a raise in 2009 before the National Championship game. Not just bonuses.
