See, I disagree with you. The last place I want to watch a game (let alone a game which I'm 100 percent uninterested in) is in a Presidential Suite surrounded by people working or celebrating their net worth.
I'd rather be outside with the real fans listening to the crowd, marching band, hearing the defensive hits, and absorbing the crowd's excitement (or dismay).
I really don't care about the Presidential Suite. It's just his way to show off his job...

I would imagine Christmas bonfires are popular in that part of the country. I would simply thank him for the fire starter and get warm.
Someone gives me a burnt orange anything for Christmas and I will grab a lighter, immediately go outside, and burn it in the driveway while making them watch. That is not a joke. My family would never give me that crap. I even had an uncle who played football at UT. They still know better than to expect me to support anything from that school.

Your being the unreasonable one. Wear black or grey and be an adult. Your cousin has a job to do, and was nice enough to offer you a ticket to the suite.
You wearing another teams gear is not and should not be his problem to worry about, especially when the rich donors say "what the frick is this mizzou guy doing here?" To which he has to embarrassingly say : "oh this is my cousin who was to immature to not wear his teams gear".
If you really don't care as much as you claim you don't, then just don't go. But don't let "not wearing your teams gear" be the reason. So childish.

At least you get it. Thanks for understanding.

If I didn't care about the game I'd thank him for the invite and just see him at the meal and skip the game.
Who wants to spend a day at a game you don't want to be at with a bunch of pompous arse folks you don't know.
Or just stay with the kids and dress like you want..
And if you made this crap up.... kiss my arse

Your cousin also has a different point of view though. He has to support that school, because it is his job. He has to look like a super fan to the donors. Probably better if you aren't in that room tbh.

I did NOT make this up. I mean, if y'all think I made this up then what you're saying is I'm a pretty decent writer...and I know y'all won't give me credit for that.
No...this is not made up. This all went down about 2 hours ago.

EXACTLY!!! But he's the type of person that'll throw a bitch fit if everyone doesn't follow his plan. Trust me, folks...he's only doing this to show off his job and access to influential people. Instead of allowing people to brag for him, he takes the exact opposite approach - he cannot have a conversation that doesn't revolve around his job, who he knows, which famous donor he just had dinner with, the recommendations he's received from influential people, etc.
He's THAT guy.
The only reason he wants us to go to the game is to brag about himself.

Sounds like he has a pretty interesting job worth talking about. If you're going to his house for the Holiday, it is polite to follow his plan and go to the game. You really do have to go, as shitty as that is. Otherwise you look like an a-hole.

I bet! And as a Missouri fan I totally understand. People think Missouri fans suck, but they forget just how heated the rivalry is between Missouri and Kansas, not just in sports but in every day life!
Aggie fans understand. Y'all remember the Mizzou/Kansas hatred. Anyone who believes the Mizzou/Kansas rivalry is over just doesn't know anything about Missouri and Kansas.
Just because we no longer play each other in sports doesn't mean the rivalry is over. The rivalry is a state rivalry, not a sports rivalry. It's a legit hatred between two states.
The fact that we don't play each other has made the hatred even worse. Kansas hates us for nearly wrecking their conference. We hate them because they fricking suck.

I work with a K-State alum. Anytime the SEC expansion is brought up around him, he goes off about how Aggy and Mizzou got greedy and nearly ruined the Big 12 by jumping ship. I just laugh and say Texas ruined it (and the SWC) and made us realize we have better options.

I know...and that was the plan the entire time. The Mizzou gear comment is what made him flip his damn lid!
Even his father inlaw hates this school.
My cousin understands this but doesn't give two shits. In fact, I'm convinced he's going to ask us to wear this school's team gear. If he does that I'll flat our refuse because he's doing it for one purpose - a trollish power play.
He's doing it just to prove he can. I don't fall for that nonsense.

If you are sitting in a regular seat, then frick him. He has no say in what you wear. I would just tell him "Look, if you keep pressing this I am going to wear Mizzou gear head to toe. Be glad I'm only wearing the hat."
Just don't sit in the suite.
Just don't sit in the suite.

When I go to FSU or UF games, I wear some random shirt that closely resembles their colors.
I wouldn't wear an Alabama shirt to those games. It's pointless.

Kinda what I was thinking.
His worry is that he'll be seen with someone who isn't supporting his school and it will reflect poorly on him.
Like I said, he's not asking us to go to this game to have fun. I mean, the rest of us will be sitting outside without him watching two teams we have zero interest in while he spends the entire game in the Presidential Suite working.
No, he has one agenda - to show off his awesome job.

At the Alabama-Miss St game I saw three guys with Auburn shirts and one with a Gators shirt. I never understand why people feel the need to do this. Is that the extent of their wardrobe?
