Notre Dame turned down bowl games until they started to count for national championships.

So this isn't really surprising.

ND turning down a bowl game because they didn’t get in the playoff. How typical. Other teams declining bowl game don’t have a coach

It's good. frick the 'let's have tons of bowl games to make money, even if it means 5-7 teams might need to sneak in.'

How about no bowl game period unless you're actually over .500? And I'm okay with teams flat out declining too. It isn't worth anything.

Does playing in a bowl help you prepare for the next season. Completely different group of players for each team.

Good scheduling cupcakes and losing the few games that matter should not be the way to the playoff every year. Yet look at the schedule for 2026 for them apparently they think this will work.

Well, then I don’t give a shite. It’s a participation trophy at best.

Notre Dame doesn’t represent what’s good about college football. I’m glad it [finally] caught up with them.

And join a conference, ya big babies.

We could always move the qualifier for post season bowl games (ones that dont really mean anything anyway) to 8 or 9 wins....at least it might be better quality of football....and let the higher ranked team host to have actual human beings in the stand and create an atmosphere.

Pussies are paid to coach and play. This "I'm gonna take my ball and go home because things didn't go my way" shite is typical of this entitled generation. Man up play what you're paid to do.

Auburn already declined. Two spots were open and Rice and State got them. FSU is next in line.
