So you are saying, it is perfectly fine to solicit money from one school, not get paid, then go attend another school with no consequences?

No.

I am saying there is another threat that started before you got here where understading is much more rampant.

Again, that goes against human nature. He would not be thinking that rationally.

That doesn't make sense. Are you saying human nature is not to think rationally? What makes it rational and how do we know what is rational then?

Just because the SECr lacks logic and rational thinking, doesn't mean the rest of humanity does Memphis

Why? 99.9% of Auburn fans want Lowder and Rane gone. Have for years.

It was intentional irony for the most part and designed to get the reaction I got. You will learn my style soon enough.

I see where you are upset at the situation because it left MSU on the short side of the stick, but what would be the rule to fix that? If Cam truly didn't know, why should he be punished for what his dad did. MSU would have still lost out, but so would Cam. There is no rule that would have prevented MSU from losing out on this one.

I could be wrong, but there is a NCAA rule that a parent or guardian can not act on behalf of the student athlete.

Yes, I think the rule should be changed where the athlete is punished for this. The rule should read that since the players parent solicited money, that the player loses his amature status.

I do not think the schools should be punished in any way.

That is my point, State fans can't want Rogers gone, he is no way shape or form involved in State athletics except for the fact he played here many years ago.

IMO, that made any decisions his dad did, culpable to him and he should have lost amateur status to play at any NCAA institution.

That's an extremely harsh punishment for a recruit who never actually received any improper benefits. The NCAA would be taking away that recruit's chance to play at ANY institution and earn a degree, while making it impossible for them to reach the NFL. That "crime" isn't worth possibly ruining the rest of a recruit's life.

Maybe. But like Lowder, Rane, Frost, Thomas or others...what does that have to do with Cam, Cecil or Kenny Rogers? It's well documented about AU's past...doesn't change the fact that in this particular case, it's an MSU alum whose hands are dirty.

The dirty players from Au's past are still in influential positions at Au. Dye, Lowder, Rane....

So Auburn could solicit money to all of Alabama's recruits and not pay them but then they would all be inelgible.

What if it is done without the kid's knowledge? Or, what if an estranged parent does it? Kid still loses his opportunity to play college ball?

Should a player who actually accepts a benefit also lose his amateur status? At what point? Cheeseburger? $100? When he sells his own jersey?
