The O knows the play. That is an advantage over the D.

They should substitute just like they do in hockey. Easy fix.

How in the frick is that unique to HUNH? What in the frick is the EXTRA advantage?

D's get to move freely pre snap and disguise their look, that is the D's advantage.

How is that an unfair advantage. The D has to look and see who is where. The O knows what they are doing.

What if a defender jumps offside between 40 and 29 seconds. Can the offense not snap the ball if the player is offsides. Who gets the penalty then?

They need to also pass a rule to make the Defense get set and only have one guy in motion. Since its all about being fair.

You just said having a play is an unfair advantage for the O. Are you forgetting what you are arguing now? Maybe those football injuries have done some damage after all.

You've never seen a defense with only 10 guys out there and then a player runs out there late?

Goes back to one of my original quesitons. Why don't we just make the Offense "check" the ball before snapping?

Don't worry before long Saban and Bret will have rules so the D has to give the O the okay to snap the ball. Also rules where each team has to tell the other what play they are running so no one gets confused or hit when they are not expecting it.

So the fact that the O knows the play, is not an advantage over the D?

Yes it is. Now, where is this magical EXTRA advantage you were referring to?

No more than defenses like Saban's disguising Blitzes. You think its fair the D should know who is getting the ball so they can all go cover him?

However you are not arguing to get rid of plays for the offense. Why are you against getting rid of unfair advantages for the offense?

It really isn't hard.

You just proved the point that you're arguing against. How is it fair to force a defense to have to play like that? That's perfect proof that it's not fair!
Hell, I don't have a dog in this fight, but I'm finding it amusing how posters will step on their own dicks if you just give them a little time.

No, that is the game itself. And your argument that the HUNH adds an extra advantage that shouldn't be there is predicated on nothing at all.

And why are we even talking about this? I thought this was all about injuries and 'protecting players' because Saban's heart is full of goodness.

Why do you all keep changing your story?
